R&D Team Lead__
The work model for the role is: hybrid / #LI-Hybrid
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product, and/or solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP). You'll be the person the agile team turns to for the "what" and the "why," while working closely with product management and architecture team who sets the broader direction. Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Collaborating with Product Management, Software Architects, Release Owners, and Development Teams to refine epics and features and align team priorities with stream- and system-level objectives. Own and prioritize the product backlog for your area, keeping it clear, current, and ordered by value and dependency.
- Ensuring that product epics and features meet the Definition of Ready (DoR) and are fully prepared for implementation.
- Preparing and conducting product demonstrations, webinars, and customer-facing presentations, both online and in-person, in collaboration with Marketing and Product Management.
- Preparing and maintaining the team backlog for upcoming Program Increments (PIs). This includes proactively refining epics and features ahead of PI Planning to ensure that upcoming work is sufficiently defined, estimated, and aligned with stream objectives.
- Prioritizing and accepting maintenance activities, corrective actions, and technical debt alongside new feature development.
- Driving innovation and intellectual property (IP) creation within the area of responsibility and contributing to the development and execution of the overall IP strategy.
- Partner with engineering and QA on scope, trade-offs, and release readiness — including how changes will behave against real setups, not just in a test rig.
Qualifications for the role
- You are highly proficient in Azure DevOps and Team Foundation Server (TFS) and have proven experience in defining, refining, and managing Product Epics and Features.
- You have at least 5 years of experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline within the Process Automation domain, ideally with expertise in Device Management and Fleet Management solutions.
- You possess solid knowledge of industrial communication standards and protocols such as PROFINET, PROFIBUS, HART, EtherNet/IP, OPC UA and APL.
- You are passionate about software product development and enjoy working in global, cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable engineering solutions for customers worldwide.
- Business-fluent German and fluent English language skills, both written and spoken
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills being able to engage credibly with both control engineers at customer sites and marketing or product managers, adapting communication style to the audience.
- Strong understanding of SAFe Agile principles with hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments as a Product Owner
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills being capable of troubleshooting complex product issues, analyzing root causes, and supporting teams in narrowing down and resolving reported defects.
Benefits
- Canteen
- Employee Assistance Program
- Flexible Workpractices
- Employee Share Acquisition Plan
Please note: in the case of equal suitability, people with severe disabilities and their equals are given preference.
