Job Description:Broadcom is looking for a senior level high speed analog mixed-signal designer. In this highly visible role, you will be designing wireline high-speed analog mixed-signal circuitry for data center connectivity applications.
Qualifications include:
Bachelors in Engineering and 5+ years of related experience Masters degree in Engineering and 3+ years of related experience
Research and apply cutting edge design and validation for analog/mixed-signal integrated circuits for high-speed
Serial link applications such as: fiber optic communication systems, Gigabit Ethernet (GE), enterprise storage and wireless network routers.
Research novel circuit techniques to achieve maximum speed and performance, while minimizing the power and area requirements.
Design, develop, modify and evaluate electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems.
Determine design approaches and parameters.
Analyze equipment to establish operating data; conduct experimental tests and evaluate results.
Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
Layout/design work in a non-ASIC product environment.
Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Exercise judgement in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Network with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
Characterize and debug analog designs for manufacturability.
Create circuit models to define package and pc board requirements.
Develop circuit test plans of testing.
Understand system level architectural design of broadband communication SoCs.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Analog circuit design;
2. CMOS device operating regions & characteristics;
3. Common circuit topologies used in CMOS analog circuits, particularly in circuits running at 1 GHz and above;
4. Analog circuit design trade-offs and parameters (e.g. noise & distortion, frequency-response, mismatch, bandwidth, stability or settling limitations);
5. Signal processing in analog filters, analog to digital converters, digital to analog converters and feedback controlled loops;
6. Simulation tools, custom layout tools and common lab equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer or similar).
Highly Desired Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the specific ability to speak to various technical and management levels.
Proactive, collaborative and creative approach to innovation, technical development and consensus facilitation to influence optimal project results.
