Overview: As a Quality Tech. II, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards. You will play a vital role in conducting quality inspections, performing tests, and analyzing data to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Inspections (With Minimal Supervision):
    • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of in-process components and finished products to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
    • Utilize measuring instruments, gauges, and equipment to perform inspections and verify product conformity.
    • Functional testing of handheld extinguishers to UL requirements.
    • Identify and document any non-conformities, defects, or discrepancies in products and materials.
  1. Documentation and Reporting (With Minimal Supervision):
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspection results, test data, and quality documentation.
    • Communicate quality issues and discrepancies to appropriate stakeholders and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  1. Process Improvement (With Minimal Supervision):
    • Identify opportunities for process optimization, waste reduction, and quality enhancement, and contribute to the implementation of improvement projects.
  1. Compliance Management (With Minimal Supervision):
    • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001:2015 standards and quality management system requirements.
    • Assist in addressing non-conformities and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or technical certification in a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a quality assurance or inspection role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management system requirements and quality assurance principles preferred.
  • Proficiency in conducting quality inspections, tests, and measurements using various tools and equipment preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and documentation.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Self-starter with experience in a fast-paced environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and basic computer skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
