This Senior Software Engineer will help design, build, and evolve next-generation AI-powered operational platforms. In this role, you will drive the development of scalable microservices, agentic AI capabilities, integration frameworks, and automation solutions that enable intelligent incident triage, operational workflow automation, and self-service engineering experiences.
You will collaborate closely with platform engineers, product owners, SRE teams, architects and operational stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable and scalable solutions that improve engineering productivity and reduce operational toil.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications, APIs, and microservices supporting the IPE platform.
- Build scalable backend services using modern development frameworks and engineering best practices.
- Develop reusable integration patterns for ServiceNow, observability platforms, knowledge repositories, databases, and enterprise systems.
- Contribute to platform architecture, scalability, resiliency and performance improvements.
- Develop AI-powered workflows leveraging enterprise LLM platforms, MCP integrations, vector search, and agent orchestration frameworks.
- Build and enhance agent capabilities that support incident triage, root cause analysis, automation recommendations and operational insights.
- Implement multi-agent orchestration patterns, intelligent routing and workflow execution capabilities.
- Enhance AI governance, traceability, security controls and responsible AI implementation.
- Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
- Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
- Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
- Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
- Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
- 4+ years of software engineering experience developing enterprise-scale applications and services.
- Strong programming experience in one or more languages such as Python, TypeScript, JavaScript.
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs, microservices and distributed systems.
- Experience working with cloud-native technologies, containers and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated testing and DevOps practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within Agile development teams.
- Ability to participate in production support, incident analysis and operational readiness activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience building AI/ML-enabled applications, Generative AI solutions, RAG architectures or agent-based systems.
- Experience integrating with enterprise AI platforms, LLMs, vector databases and MCP-based ecosystems.
- Experience with ServiceNow APIs, workflows, and enterprise automation platforms.
- Working knowledge of SRE principles, operational excellence, incident management and reliability engineering.
