About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Fraud Consultant within Fraud and Claims Operations to support the Commercial & Corporate Banking Payments Fraud organization. Fraud Prevention Intelligence Consultants review wire transfers, ACH transactions, Instant Payments and account compromise events across multiple channels to mitigate fraud risks for Commercial and Corporate clients.
In this role, you will:
  • Conduct investigative research and root cause analysis on fraud events, claims, policy violations, and other high-risk situations impacting commercial clients.
  • Review and analyze wire transfer activity, ACH transactions, payroll payments, and account history to identify suspicious patterns and potential fraud.
  • Detect trends, anomalies, and emerging fraud schemes through detailed examination of transactional and relationship data.
  • Investigate incidents involving account compromise, cyber fraud, and payment fraud affecting commercial customers.
  • Provide recommendations to mitigate fraud risks, strengthen controls, and improve business processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with partners across Fraud & Claims Operations, Treasury Management, Legal, Risk, Compliance, and other business groups.
  • Support fraud prevention initiatives through research, analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Exercise independent judgment while managing investigations and contributing to fraud strategy development.
Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Fraud, Investigations of Fraud, Claim Transactions or Policy Violations, Risk Management, or Compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting Treasury Management products and services for commercial and corporate clients.
  • Knowledge of commercial payment processing, including ACH transactions, wire transfers, and large-value payment activity.
  • Experience reviewing and researching commercial account activity, transaction history, and payment exceptions.
  • Experience with payroll processing, including large batch payroll files and ACH payroll transactions.
  • Understanding of fraud risks associated with commercial payments, account compromise, business email compromise (BEC), and cyber-enabled fraud.
  • Experience conducting investigations involving wire fraud, ACH fraud, account takeover, payment fraud, or unauthorized transactions.
  • Ability to identify suspicious activity, fraud patterns, trends, and anomalies across transactions and customer relationships.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong research, documentation, and case management skills.
  • Experience collaborating with business partners, operational teams, and risk stakeholders to resolve complex fraud matters.
  • Experience with fraud detection and case management tools such as Actimize, Hogan, ServiceView, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with commercial banking clients, including middle-market, large corporate, and institutional customers
Job Expectations
  • Schedule: Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M. AZ Time PM (AZ time) with some flexibility
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed
  • Hybrid schedule: 3 days in-office and 2 days remote (based on listed location)
