Job Description
Within the Trains’ Team at Orient-Express, the Quality Manager will have the responsibility and accountability for overseeing the design, industrialization, and production of the train asset. This primarily involves overseeing metalwork on car body shells to restore historical vehicles, and secondarily focusing on the integration of systems and subsystems on board the train. He oversees the entire process, ensuring compliance with standards both from a regulatory perspective and in accordance with the state of the art and the requirements of the Orient Express brand.
The Quality Manager will work closely with the Project Manager, to whom he will directly report. He will also work closely in collaboration with the Technical Director as well as the Procurement Manager.
This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Your missions and responsibilities:
1. Quality
- Quality monitoring of on-site production services
- Documentary monitoring of quality records
- Interface between Industrial supplier and certification bodies
- Verification and archiving of Quality records.
- Conducting supplier audits
- Tracking progress car by car
- Set up full industrial work over seeing KPI
2. Additional missions
- Maintenance: Monitoring of Measurement, Control, and Testing Equipment
- Monitoring equipment certification
- Monitoring ECE certification (C function) of Orient Express if required.
- Administrative: Recording orders and receipts on the supplier monitoring tool
Qualifications
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field
- In-depth knowledge of the railway sector and its technical specificities
- Knowledge with regulatory requirements and standards in the railway industry for welding of railway vehicles and components
- Extensive experience in metal work and welding processes, with a strong emphasis on quality control and assurance (ISO 9001 and EN 15085 expert)
- Proficiency in leading supplier audits, assessing compliance with quality standards and contractual requirements
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions quickly, ensuring efficient resolution of issues
- Fluent in French and Italian, with proficiency in English considered a strong asset
- Understanding of railway systems, including electrical systems, signaling, windows & doors, IT infrastructure…
- Strong sense of organization, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
- Willingness and flexibility to travel on short notice, both domestically and internationally, to oversee production processes and conduct supplier assessments
- Team oriented and excellent communication skills are essential
- Positive attitude
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, for data analysis, reporting, and documentation management
