About the Role
Ontra is seeking a Quality Engineer reporting to our Engineering Manager on our Quality team.

We're looking for someone excited to embed and collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform exploratory testing, enhance automated testing solutions, and integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines for seamless software releases.

What You'll Do
- Software Testing: Quickly gain an understanding of Ontra applications and their relevant functionalities to effectively contribute to quality assurance processes, including manual and automated testing. You are a product expert in your domain.
- Relationship Building: Establish strong, collaborative relationships with peers across QE, Software Engineering, and Product teams to facilitate seamless communication and coordination.
- Automation Framework: Enhance our Playwright automation framework and supporting tooling, ensuring they are maintainable, reusable, and scalable.
- Quality Advocacy: Champion quality processes and foster a collaborative team ownership mindset around quality. Empower your team to own testing and quality from project inception through production and post-production deploy.
- Enabling Continuous Delivery: Enhance, stabilize, and speed up our Smoke and Regression Automated Testing Suites integrated into our CI pipelines to support Continuous Delivery and continuous quality checks of our main application.
What You'll Bring
- Experience: 3+ years of significant experience with manual testing and automated testing tools like Playwright and/or Cypress.
- Programming Skills: Intermediate to expert level proficiency in TypeScript (preferred) or JavaScript, and familiarity with Ruby or any other object-oriented programming languages.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Intermediate experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including QA, Software Engineering,, Product, and DevOps.
- CI/CD & Infrastructure: Intermediate experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or other Cloud Based CI Providers, as well as familiarity with AWS infrastructure technologies.
- Issue Management System: Familiarity with bugs/issue management systems, such as Jira, Trello, Gitlab, etc.
Pay TransparencyOntra takes individual candidate location, experience, and skills into consideration when determining compensation. The base pay range is listed below. Additionally, all positions are eligible for unit-based equity grants.
Some positions may be eligible for additional compensation, such as commission or other variable compensation structures, which is not included in the below base pay range.
