Why You Will Love this Job
The Quality Engineer – Small Assembly will own product and process quality for our small industrial generator assembly lines. This is a critical role responsible for raising first-pass yield, reducing scrap, and making sure every nonconformance is contained, dispositioned, and corrected at the root cause.
In this Quality Engineering position, you will be the floor-based quality owner for two assembly lines, run nonconformances through the Material Review Board (MRB), lead root cause and corrective action (RCCA), and drive process improvements that deliver measurable gains in yield and cost. You'll partner closely with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supplier Quality to keep the lines running and improving.
This opportunity is ideal for a quality engineer who thrives in a hands-on, high-mix production environment, enjoys solving problems on the line, and is motivated by seeing their improvements show up in the metrics.
Work mode: onsite Monday-Friday
Location: MOSEL--N7650 County Rd LS, Sheboygan, WI, 53083
Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring new or transfer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Key Responsibilities
Line Quality Ownership
- Serve as the dedicated quality engineer for the small industrial assembly lines, supporting production daily on the floor
- Monitor first-pass yield (FPY), scrap, and quality-related downtime; identify top defect drivers using Pareto and trend analysis

- Support quality readiness for new product introductions, engineering changes, and process changes on the lines
Nonconformance & MRB
- Identify, document, and route nonconforming product and material to MRB in a timely manner
- Participate in MRB to drive timely disposition, accurate inventory control, and closure of nonconforming material
- Coordinate rework processes, including routing, verification, and closure
Root Cause & Corrective Action
- Lead containment, root cause analysis, and corrective action (RCCA/8D) for internal and supplier-related quality issues
- Verify effectiveness of corrective actions and prevent recurrence through updates to process controls
- Partner with Supplier Quality on supplier-caused defects, providing data and evidence to support supplier corrective action
Continuous Improvement
- Drive process improvements that increase FPY and reduce scrap, rework, and quality-related downtime
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, and MSA tools to reduce variation and improve process capability
- Lead or support Kaizen events focused on defect prevention and process optimization
- Support internal and external audits related to manufacturing quality
Requirements:
