The role as a Quality Control Manager will lead and oversee all aspects of quality assurance and compliance for our aerospace and spacecraft manufacturing operations. Be responsible for developing and enforcing quality standards, managing inspection and testing processes, and ensuring all components and systems meet rigorous aerospace regulatory and customer requirements.

This role requires deep knowledge of aerospace quality systems, materials, and processes, including AS9100, NADCAP, and other relevant standards. Work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to identify risks, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain a strong culture of quality throughout the organization. Provides a high level of leadership and support of Quality department requirements. Plans, coordinates and directs QC inspection activities to ensure processes and parts meet all requirements.


This position will play a crucial role in the production process and contribute to the company’s overall performance in Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Attitude (QCDSA).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and procedures for aerospace and spacecraft manufacturing operations.
  • Oversee inspection/testing processes for incoming materials, in-process components, and final products.
  • Proficient in all inspection methods and process for Pryer’ production capabilities or possess high level specialty skill or certification for Pryer special manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in the requirements of the AS9100 framework Including AS9102 FAI.
  • Provides leadership to department staff by developing, managing, leading, supporting and coaching. members ensuring continual development of business competencies. Resolve employee conflicts.
  • Evaluates and monitors employee performance through performance plans and assessments.
  • Supervise and lead the quality control team, including inspectors, technicians, and auditors
  • Assesses inspection requirements and assign inspection projects and tasks to inspection personnel.
  • Develops, manages and maintains an organization structure to support the Quality Control function.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory bodies (e.g., FAA, DoD), internal standards.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (RCCA) for non-conformances and quality issues. Troubleshoot and solve inspections issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain to ensure quality is built into every stage of design and manufacturing.
  • Maintain and manage documentation related to quality procedures, reports, audits, and certifications.
  • Support audits and assessments by regulatory agencies, customers, and internal teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Develop and deliver training on quality standards, procedures, and best practices to staff and suppliers.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Associate degree in Inspection/Quality Technology and/or a minimum of 5 years of inspection experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE

  • Two years’ working experience as a Quality Supervisor or Manager in a manufacturing environment.
  • In depth knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 quality systems. 
  • Proficient in blueprint reading, modeling, GD&T and DPD/MBD.
  • Expert using both standard and metric measuring tools. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of Heat Treat specifications and welding standards/requirements.
  • Ability to read and understand purchase orders and routers.
  • Expert with aerospace materials, tolerances, and specifications.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma background.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems; knowledge of database software, MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook), Modeling Software and integration of technical data relative to the Quality function. CAD/CAM expertise.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Adhere to OSHA, NADCAP,  ISO9000 / AS9100, ITAR, FAA regulations and company specific safety standards.
  • Internal Certifications: Hardness/Conductivity, MRAS DPRV, Visual Weld and/or other approved processes.
  • Meet requirements of annual Vision Exam.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods (up to 8-12 hours per shift). Able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25-50lbs regularly, and occasionally heavier weights with assistance.

Must be able to tolerate exposure to manufacturing environments, including moderate noise levels, vibrations, and varying temperatures.

Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required, Such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

On the production floor, PPE is required depending on department and product (e.g., gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection).
