Shift: Office/Warehouse (8:30 – 5:00)
Location: SLC and Lehi
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is primarily responsible for the day-to-day Quality Assurance Program. They shall conduct food safety risk assessments on raw materials, determine appropriate test methods and specifications for inbound ingredients and outbound products, and assist in process design and continuous improvement.
MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Participate in implementing and maintaining food safety policies outlined by SQF, HACCP and SOP documents.
- Perform Raw Material Risk Assessments.
- Participate in managing formula change control.
- Assist in investigating Customer Complaints, CAPAs, Supplier Claims, and recalls as needed.
- Participate in Document Control and managing SOP revision, distribution, and training.
- Manage testing requirements and specifications for inbound raw materials and outbound finished products.
- Participate in Out of Specification material review and disposition.
- Create SOP’s, work instructions, logs, and other documentation as needed.
- Other duties and functions may be assigned.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree or pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in science or related field preferred.
PCQI Certified (training accommodation may be provided).
WORK EXPERIENCE:
1-3 years of experience in GMP/FDA regulated industry preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position frequently works in an office environment and frequent exposure to the manufacturing floor. Seldom exposure to noise and fumes, dust or other airborne particles. Seldom work near moving mechanical parts or powered industrial trucks. Potential exposure to allergens such as milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat and soybeans.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires frequent sitting, use of hands, talking, hearing/listening, tasting/smelling, standing, walking, bending/stooping, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in science or related field
- PCQI Certification

- Experience performing raw material risk assessments and managing testing/specifications for inbound/outbound products

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequent manufacturing floor exposure
