GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Quality Assurance Analyst (QA) II plans and conducts a wide range of quality control tests and analysis to ensure all application products and services meet organizational standards and end-user requirements. This includes performing test planning, test design and test execution. In addition to QA responsibilities, the Analyst also executes various administration and support items.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engages in several areas of software testing: Manual functional testing, manual regression testing, and executing previously automated tests.
- Analyzes requirements and communicates to QA Manager and project team members any issues found in them.
- Writes Test Cases and documents test case traceability to requirements, utilizing a Test Case Management tool such as qTest.
- Research problems reported in production application and communicates results with appropriate parties for resolution.
- Finds and files bugs.
- Uses available test data and creates new test data when needed.
- Assists the QA project lead in creation of test strategy, test plans, and project reports as needed
- Works as QA project lead on low to medium complexity projects.
- Delivers assignments with high quality, readability, and timely delivery.
- Creates QA estimations, Test Strategy, and Project Closure documents.
- Creates and communicates the Daily Status Report for active projects
- Proactively identifies test issues and formulates strategies to mitigate schedule impact
- Creates tasks for offshore team according to test plan and daily changes.
- Participates in automation framework creation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance or related field of study; plus 3-4 years of related industry experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Insurance Industry experience working with annuity principles and products along with related federal and state laws.

- Strong customer service orientation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.

- Ability to analyze and synthesize complex information.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications and other software such as LifePRO.
- Good business acumen with the ability to understand business implications of work.
- Ability to work effectively in team environment.
- Knowledge of software development life cycle and basic QE processes.
- Knowledge of typical QA tools such as Test Case and Defect Management tools.
- Uses available test data and creates new test data.
- Familiar with the basics of AEL's applications and typical policy and agent lifecycle.
- Drive to learn newer QA techniques, processes, and toolsNo travel is required for this position.
- Possesses strong understanding of QE test process.
- Understands AEL's application landscape and key integrations and policy and agent lifecycles.
- Maintains the regression test suite for the assigned AEL applications.

- Device Testing
- IVR
- Salesforce
- FAST
- Production Parallel testing
