About this opportunity:
What if the tools you build could save hundreds of engineering teams thousands of hours every year?
We're looking for a Python Developer to join a small, high-impact Platform Engineering team. You'll build the internal tooling that automates software supply chain compliance and Product Lifecycle Management - the kind of work that removes friction for entire organizations and directly accelerates time to market.
This isn't about maintaining legacy systems. You'll own significant parts of the product, shape architecture decisions, and apply AI to solve real problems - all in a team small enough that your ideas matter from day one.
What you will do:
- Build and evolve Python tools that automate dependency identification and software supply chain compliance at scale.
- Integrate with PLM systems to ensure traceability and regulatory compliance of third-party software components.
- Tackle complex problems end-to-end: from understanding the domain, to designing the solution, to shipping and operating it.
- Automate everything worth automating - CI/CD pipelines, testing, verification, deployment.
- Collaborate daily in a small team where code reviews are conversations, not gatekeeping.
- Explore and apply AI (LLMs, agents) to make the tools - and the team - smarter.
The skills you bring:
- You love solving hard problems. Logical thinking and algorithmic reasoning come naturally to you. This is what we value most.
- You write Python well. Clean, typed, tested code is your standard, not your stretch goal.
- You're self-directed. In a small team, everyone drives their own work. You're comfortable with ownership and autonomy.
- You automate by instinct. CI/CD, testing, deployment - if it can be automated, you've probably already done it.
- You integrate systems. REST APIs, external services, data formats - connecting things is second nature.
- You use Git like a professional. Clean history, meaningful commits, solid workflow.
- You communicate clearly in English, both written and verbal.
Bonus points
- You know how build tools work across ecosystems (Maven, Gradle, Go modules, npm, yarn, uv, Cargo, pip) - even if you haven't used them all.
- You've played with LLMs, prompt engineering, or AI agents and have opinions about where they add real value.
- You've used Docker in CI/CD pipelines.
- You're curious about software composition analysis (SCA), SBOMs, or software supply chain security.
- You've worked with linting and static analysis tools and appreciate the value of strict codebases.
Why this role stands out
- Ownership from day one. Small team means you influence architecture, priorities, and product direction directly.
- Real-world AI application. Not hype - practical AI-assisted development that makes measurable differences.
- Tangible impact. Your work reduces total cost of ownership and accelerates time to market for engineering teams across the organization.
- Modern stack. uv, ruff, mypy, AI-assisted workflows - we invest in tooling that makes development enjoyable.
- Growth without bureaucracy. A small team means a lightweight process shaped by the people doing the work - not rigid frameworks imposed top-down. We adapt how we work to what actually makes sense for the team.
If you're an engineer who thrives on solving complex problems and wants to see your work make a real difference - not disappear into a backlog - we'd love to talk.
