Reporting to the Team Lead, Psychological Support Services, the Psychology Assistant will review, screen and triage referrals for assessment and Psychology Consultant services. Psychology Assistants also assist Psychologists in specific psychology assessments, by administering and scoring psychological test instruments and contribute to reporting as required.
Your Psychological Assistant responsibilities:
- Referral screening and triage.
- Completion of file reviews and clinical summaries.
- Collaborating with claim owners as a clinical resource to help move care planning forward by resolving psychology support services requests.
- Coordinating CPA/NPA and Psycho-vocational assessment referrals to other providers within and outside of Alberta.
- Liaising with authorized and non-authorized psychologists and other providers.
- Assisting with administering psychometric assessments (including behavioural observations) for staff psychologists.
- Contributing to approved research projects.
- Providing education to case managers on psychosocial issues.
Your experience and skills:
- A bachelor’s degree in a Psychology Program with related experience in a similar environment.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to provide written work at a professional level with an understanding of relevant psychological knowledge.
- Good knowledge of rehabilitation practices and familiarity with community resources.
- Understanding of WCB policy and procedures is an asset.
- Reliability and time management skills are integral to your success in this position.
- The ability to work 7.25 hour shifts between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday is required.

Salary: Grade H3 Start Rate: $71,404.58 to Job Rate: $91,799.29
In accordance with the HSAA Collective Agreement
This is a temporary, full-time position for approximately one year with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. Final candidates for this position will be required to undergo a security clearance.
