As a Prompt Writer at Apollo.io, you will play a crucial role in building Apollo’s AI Platform & Sales AI Assistant for end-to-end sales workflows. Your primary focus will be on expanding our prompt template library, incorporating GTM best practices into our AI offerings, and creating high quality AI products to surpass our competitors. This role is essential in improving the quality, scalability, and overall performance of our AI-driven sales execution platform. 

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and guide the vision, strategy, and roadmap for expanding Apollo’s template library, aligning with the company’s overarching strategy to deliver superior AI-driven sales engagement solutions.
  • Design, analyze, and refine prompts tailored to various sales tasks, ensuring they drive desired responses and enhance user engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including UX/UI designers, product managers, and data scientists, to ensure prompt designs contribute to a unified, user-centric experience.
  • Continuously optimize the prompt generation process to improve system performance, particularly in personalizing messages and selecting the optimal communication channel.
  • Integrate prompt designs into NLP models, enhancing Apollo’s AI platform and facilitating smarter, more efficient outreach.
  • Evaluate and iterate on prompt designs, using data analysis and user feedback to improve conversational capabilities and alignment with user needs.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs to measure the effectiveness of AI prompts, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement in targeting and messaging accuracy.
  • Stay ahead of advancements in AI, NLP, and machine learning, proactively applying these to Apollo’s business objectives to maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • AI & NLP Expertise: At least 2 years of experience working with AI, NLP, and speech recognition applications, particularly in enhancing targeted messaging.
  • Proficiency in prompt writing and familiarity with common prompt writing techniques and evaluation.
  • Domain expertise in GTM or prior sales experience.
  • Deep understanding of user behavior, empathy for user needs, and the ability to design prompts that effectively communicate with users.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis capabilities to assess and improve prompt performance and user interactions.
  • Experience with Large Language Models: High-level familiarity with large language models and their application in prompt design.
  • Creative & Strategic Thinking: A background in creative writing or content creation is a plus.
  • Effective communication with cross-functional teams, including: developers, designers, and product managers. 
  • Keen eye for detail to ensure that prompts are error-free, visually appealing, and aligned with the overall design aesthetic of the application.

The listed Pay Range reflects base salary range, except for sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commission/sales bonus targets and annual base salary for the role. This pay range may be inclusive of several career levels at Apollo and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include equity; company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; at least 10 paid holidays per year, flex PTO, and parental leave; employee assistance program and wellbeing benefits; global travel coverage; life/AD&D/STD/LTD insurance; FSA/HSA and medical, dental, and vision benefits.
