See yourself at Twilio

Join the team as our next Professional Services Engagement Manager.

Who we are & why we’re hiring

Twilio powers real-time business communications and data solutions that help companies and developers worldwide build better applications and customer experiences.

Although we're headquartered in San Francisco, we're on a journey to becoming a globally antiracist company that supports diversity, equity & inclusion wherever we do business. We employ thousands of Twilions worldwide, and we're looking for more builders, creators, and visionaries to help fuel our growth momentum.

About the job

This position is needed to sell Twilio Professional Services. The Engagement Manager is responsible for encouraging positive relationships with both our product sales teams, and our customers.

Our team is a growing organization seeking to partner with best-in class companies to help them build next-generation contact center and customer engagement applications. As an Engagement Manager you will work closely with Twilio Sales to identify services opportunities and drive business to both our services organization and to our system integrator (SI) partner ecosystem.  You will seek to understand our customer’s business case, user personas, use cases, and timelines to provide the right services recommendations for them—services that can both be delivered with excellence and provide the value the customer needs to be successful on the Twilio platform.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Shape and build key relationships among Twilio Sales, Partner Team, Customer Support and Client Success in order to keep the pipeline full of a diverse set of services opportunities. You will get plenty of support along the way, but your territory would be yours to build and manage--with an eye toward results.
  • Advocate internally and externally for the customer’s short-, medium- and long-term success every step of the way--even when the customer needs convincing.
  • Leverage your experience and insights to help the customer realize the return on investment they have planned for with Twilio. Work with them to create, validate and/or improve upon their approach to their Twilio implementation, go-live and ongoing application support.
  • Craft clear statements of work that set good and accurate expectations between Twilio and our customers, so that the experience and the outcomes are satisfying.  Negotiate and manage the contracting process with your customer in order to come to terms and reach completion in a timely fashion with their project start and go-live dates in mind.

Qualifications

Not all applicants will have skills that match a job description exactly. Twilio values diverse experiences in other industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. While having “desired” qualifications make for a strong candidate, we encourage applicants with alternative experiences to also apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!

Required:

  • Demonstrated excellence in a Services Sales or sales supporting role with 8 + years of professional experience in software, professional services, and/or contact center.
  • Comfortable carrying bookings targets and able to work within a high-velocity deal team with a diverse set of deal team members.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills that can be leveraged to quickly build trusted-advisor status with internal partners and clients alike, and able to quickly identify complexity, risk and key dependencies to propose a high-level advisory services solution.
  • Adaptable in a work environment that has a start-up mentality.

Desired:

  • Experience around contact center software/services and/or custom application development with the ability to pick up on new technologies, new products, and new industries quickly.

Location

This role will be remote, in the USA on the East Coast.
