Our Business Technology team is looking for a Director, PMO who will lead the vision, strategy, and delivery of our Business Applications and Infrastructure team portfolios. The role would include interacting with business technology and business partners to craft a BizTech strategy that aligns with business objectives and priorities. This position is a senior member of the Guidewire leadership team and reports directly to the VP, Strategy & Operations based in the San Mateo, CA, office.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in leading agile delivery capabilities for business products, overseeing traditional IT programs, and championing Agile transformations. As a lead on our team, you will serve as a key player-couch for multi-disciplinary product and project teams consisting of scrum masters, program managers, engineers, product owners, product managers, and analysts.

We are looking for an individual who builds on existing team capabilities, introduces new ones, and can quickly drive value for our business.

• Technology Portfolio Management, Program/Project Delivery Capabilities, and BizTech Operations Maturation and Optimization
• Scaled Agile Methodology
• Services Budget and External Partner Management
• FP&A, Procurement and InfoSec Collaboration
• Cross BizTech Team Influence and Partnership (Apps/InfoSec)
• Multi-year BizTech Strategy and Roadmap
• Enterprise Risk Assessment, SOX / Audit Controls & Release Management
• Change Management, Communications & Innovation

Responsibilities:

    • Provide thought leadership and guidance for maturing an Agile PMO methodology, tools and processes to enable innovation and accelerates delivery (including portfolio intake and governance)
    • Lead a team of Program Managers to lead projects through the project lifecycle from ideation to delivery and provide continuous business value to our partners and customers
    • Attract and hire exceptional talent with requisite technical and product experience
    • Responsible for day-to-day operations of the PMO team and processes (status reporting, change control, budgets, etc.)
    • Define annual and mult-year goals and initiatives for improving the team's ability to scale, and operate efficiently
    • Drive innovative ideas, solutions and products through leadership and decisive action
    • Partner with key stakeholders across the entire business to manage and drive dramatic improvement to business and customer outcomes around the end-to-end value chain of the enterprise
    • Leverage relationship and SLA's with strategic technology partners, and external advisory groups, to define strategic direction and effectively deliver significant outcomes
    • Manage the employee on-boarding experience across BizTech team members
    • Foster PMO to function as a center of excellence for communications and change management
    • Communicate a cohesive enterprise, application, and infrastructure portfolio vision & strategy with C-level staff and their direct leadership teams
    • Ensure that investments and initiatives in Business Technology services align with organizational strategy and priorities including (ROI/TCO due diligence)
    • Deliver effective service management through the definition and adoption of a governance practice that uses KPIs and metrics to track and measure the quality of service
    • Define and manage the operational reporting and BizTech value metrics to maximize benefits across enterprise initiatives
    • Lead project request, prioritization and approval process, tools and forums with business relationship managers, product managers and executives
    • Develop and manage the transition to zero-based budgeting and cost, resource allocation, and reallocations (defined annually, reviewed monthly and validated quarterly in partnership with FP&A)
    • Responsible for managing and optimizing budget for BizTech budgets & forecasts, and metrics (+/- 5% quarterly and annually of ~$5M of discretionary services funding)

Experience:

    • 10-15+ years of experience performing enterprise-level agile roles in software, IT, and business/industry including seven years of leadership responsibilities
    • People management and team leadership experience with groups of a min. of 5-10 FTE



Education:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information systems or related field, or equivalent work experience
    • Certifications - Scrum Master, Product Owner, SAFe, or equivalent
