About This Role

The Project Scheduler will be responsible for developing and maintaining integrated project schedules for the SIB portfolio, tracking progress against plan, and providing early visibility of schedule risk to enable timely corrective action. The role works closely with engineering, construction and contractor teams to ensure that schedules remain realistic, current and useful as a management tool throughout each project.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain baseline schedules for each SIB project using MS Project or Primavera P6, in collaboration with engineering and construction leads.
• Monitor and update project schedules on a regular basis using progress information received from site teams, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Identify critical path risks and schedule slippage and work with the relevant discipline lead to develop recovery plans.
• Coordinate and integrate contractor, subcontractor and vendor schedules into a consolidated master project programme to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
• Prepare and present project planning and scheduling reports, including progress curves, look-ahead schedules, key performance metrics and management dashboards for project and PMO review.
•  Support schedule risk assessments and resource loading for upcoming projects.
• Maintain a schedule basis file for each project to allow assumptions to be validated against actual outcomes.
• Assist the PMO Manager with schedule inputs for portfolio-level planning and resource sequencing across concurrent projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Education, Work Experience & Key Competencies

• A degree or HND in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related discipline.
• A minimum of five years' experience on capital or construction projects, preferably within the mining sector.
• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Project and Primavera P6, including resource and cost loading.
• A sound understanding of construction sequencing and the interfaces between civil, mechanical, electrical and process disciplines.
• Experience integrating multiple contractor schedules into a single master programme is an advantage.
•  Strong analytical skills, with the ability to critically assess schedule logic and identify unrealistic durations.
• Assertive and constructive in obtaining accurate progress information from contractors.
• Clear and structured reporting style, with the ability to present schedule information to senior stakeholders.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Sound understanding of the practical realities of site construction sequencing.
