The Opportunity

The Project Manager will manage the successful completion of complex internal Landmark Group and external customer facing projects using Technology & Information Services project teams made up of both internal and external resources as required and will take a key role in supporting the Product Management teams and Business Analysts in helping define business requirements.

Projects managed will be either creating new applications or completing enhancements on existing products followed by roll-out to external and internal customers. Both Iterative Waterfall and Agile methodologies will be used as appropriate based on the project size and type, and during delivery significant internal and external customer interaction will be required.

The Project Manager will be expected to support the high-level business analysis and production of appropriate levels of documentation to obtain customer sign off. They will be required, where appropriate, to carry out design to a functional specification level that can be used provide direction for the project team.

The role will involve:

  • To deliver the project/programme to proposed timescales, budgets and quality
  • To task manage the project team (including Project Managers where applicable) during the full development cycle through requirements gathering, analysis of requirements, design, build, testing and deployment
  • To define, promote and follow good project/programme management practice, implementing and refining appropriate methodologies when required, covering planning, reporting, risks and issues management, contingency planning as appropriate and all project/programme communication
  • To agree realistic timescales and delivery dates with the project/programme sponsor and to manage scope and schedule
  • To liaise with other Landmark departments / staff in a technical and a commercial capacity as appropriate
  • To support the account management of clients, both internally and externally with respect to the project/programme and ensure that all parties are kept fully informed of progress
  • To liaise with external organisations and consultants with whom a business relationship has been developed for projects/programmes, including negotiations with external clients, data suppliers, etc. as appropriate
  • To motivate the project/programme team, ensuring that work is completed in a timely and professional manner, to expected quality standards
  • To oversee the distribution of work among the project/programme team members
  • To actively promote a positive work ethic, encouraging team members to work beyond their own spheres of expertise when and where necessary
  • To obtain sign off from client / project sponsor or other appropriate parties at key milestones
  • Line Management of Junior Project Managers where required. Undertake regular 1-1 meetings, providing regular, timely feedback and coaching, addressing any concerns relating to the individual.
  • Project Reporting – Maintain and adhere to Project Site reporting and metrics as per the established governance processes within the PMO

About You

You will have a background in project management with proficient experience in software development and accomplished in PRINCE 2 and Agile.   

You will also have/be:

  • Prior experience or demonstrable ability to lead a team in an equivalent discipline
  • Commercially astute and Revenue Management
  • Coaching ability
  • Experienced with presenting to Senior Leadership (in Quarterly Reviews and Op Cos)
  • Experienced with managing escalations
  • Actively seek training and upskilling in Leadership skills, Negotiation skills and Project Management
