Job Description:
Hitachi Rail Portugal is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our team and lead the execution of railway signaling and control projects. This role is essential to ensure project delivery excellence, stakeholder alignment, operational performance and customer satisfaction across all phases of the project lifecycle.
A Project Manager is responsible for:
- Project Initialization
- Project Launch Review (Baseline Review)
- Project Execution, monitoring and controlling
- Delivery and invoicing of project deliverables
- Capture of Project Lesson Learnt
- Project Closure
Technical & Professional Skills
- Core Project Management knowledge and skills;
- Application of resource management, project planning and management methods;
- Understanding of project lifecycle, from requirements to preliminary and detailed design phases, development, integration, verification and validation, down to test and commissioning and acceptance of a railway solution (signaling and control);
- Good knowledge of the railway industry organisation structures, standards, workflows, operating procedures and terminology;
- Team management skills and team motivation skills;
- Good problem solving skills with experience of developing & implementing customer focused solutions and resolving high level operational challenges
Education and Qualifications
- Electrotechnical Engineer Degree or equivalent
- Previous experience + 5 years in similar roles.
- Member of the Portuguese Engineering Association (“Ordem dos Engenheiros” or “Ordem dos Engenheiros Técnicos)
- Experience in ground transportation project management (recommended)
- English (mandatory) and French (recommended) communication skills
- IPMA level C certification or above (recommended).
