Stryker is hiring a Project Manager, R&D in Mahwah, NJ! Project Managers in our Joint Replacement Portfolio Management Office lead complex new product development initiatives from planning through execution. This role provides end‑to‑end ownership of project schedules, risks, resources, and budgets while coordinating cross‑functional teams to deliver programs aligned with business objectives and regulatory expectations.

As a Project Manager, you will operate at the center of product development efforts, ensuring clarity, accountability, and disciplined execution across multiple stakeholders and workstreams.

Location

  • Candidates within a commutable distance of Mahwah, NJ are strongly preferred; remote candidates within the Eastern or Central time Zone may be considered.

What You Will Do

  • Develop, maintain, and own integrated project schedules using detailed Gantt charts, including critical path analysis and milestone tracking

  • Coordinate cross‑functional resource planning by defining roles, responsibilities, and deliverables for project team members

  • Monitor project execution against schedule, scope, and budget targets, escalating risks and variances as needed

  • Identify, analyze, and manage project risks and opportunities, including development and tracking of mitigation plans

  • Lead project communications within established governance forums, tailoring updates to senior leaders, core teams, and partners

  • Manage project scope through change assessment, documentation, and alignment with key stakeholders

  • Collaborate with functional leaders to define, track, and maintain project budgets throughout the lifecycle

  • Provide performance input to functional managers based on observed project contributions

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Engineering, Life Sciences, or Business degree preferred.

  • Minimum 4 years of project management experience or equivalent experience leading projects in regulated or product development settings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

  • Experience supporting new product development projects

  • Experience leading cross‑functional teams with or without formal authority

  • Experience using Microsoft Project or comparable project scheduling tools

$89,300 - $193,400 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

Travel Percentage: 10%
