We are a true global organisation with 1300 co-workers placed in 27 different locations, close to the suppliers and the market. The business development teams work close together with both Suppliers and Product Development.

The Category Area Indirect Procurement is a part of Purchasing Development and is responsible to lead indirect procurement across the Inter IKEA Group companies.  In a fast-changing world, it is our ambition to enable Inter IKEA Group to have the right solutions at the right time at the right place. Within indirect procurement, three categories take care of developing and executing sourcing plans, leading to an optimal supplier base to secure that we have the best possible solutions at lowest possible cost.

Job Description

As a Project leader for Sourcing and Supplier Management - Transformational project, you will independently lead the delivery of a complex sourcing and supplier management within Category Digital for Inter IKEA. The assignment focuses on enhancing the performance and collaboration with one of our key IT/Digital partners delivering a broad portfolio of services such as network, data centre, hosting, service desk, and application maintenance.

The role involves implementing improved contract structures, transitioning to service-based commercial models, and strengthening governance and performance frameworks. You will work across strategic, tactical, and operational levels to ensure the supplier engagement is fit for purpose and aligned with our wished position.

This is a multifaceted engagement with business, Digital, organizational, operational, and cost impact — requiring a combination of procurement, legal, and IT delivery expertise.

Experience

  • Senior (10+years) experience in IT consulting, digital sourcing, supplier management, or operations management.
  • Strong track record in managing and developing supplier relationships, ensuring value delivery and internal stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Proven experience in developing business cases, commercial models, and transformation strategies focused on digital and IT services.
  • Led large-scale project management engagements related to IT transformation.
  • Sound knowledge of digital trends and technologies and modern infrastructure strategies.
  • Deep understanding of contract development, SLAs, KPIs, pricing models, and service-based agreements.
  • Experience conducting due diligence and risk assessments for technology providers.
  • Skilled in leading transition planning, transformation roadmaps, and performance recovery initiatives.
  • Experience building financial models to support sourcing decisions, including TCO and ROI assessments.

You are a strategic and hands-on leader with the ability to drive complex change through supplier ecosystems. You thrive in environments where commercial transformation meets with operational delivery, and you can bring clarity and direction to complex engagements.

With a strong background in business development, IT, or supply chain, you can seamlessly move between long-term strategy and daily execution. You have a structured way of working, are capable of assessing risks, designing governance, and driving performance improvements with clear impact.

You enjoy working with cross-functional teams and are skilled at simplifying complex issues and communicating clearly across stakeholder groups.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Law, or a related field.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications in business analysis, sourcing, contract law, or digital delivery are highly desirable.
  • Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, COBIT, CMMI, TOGAF, or similar are considered a strong advantage.
  • Fluent in English; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to travel and collaborate across geographies and time zones as required.

Other Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills; able to influence and engage senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership in supplier management, contract negotiation, and programe /project delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a commercial and delivery-oriented mindset.
  • Comfortable working in dynamic and evolving business environments.
  • Proven ability to work independently and drive change at pace.
