Overall Goal
- The Project Engineer is responsible for detailed review and engineering for wet seal auxiliary systems from specification review, selection, calculations, P&ID, system description and clean order input to drafting team.
- Support wet seal system engineering activities and respond to technical queries and needs of customers and operations team.
- Take complete ownership for standard system engineering submittal documents from engineering.
Principal Accountabilities
- Review order input data, for the auxiliary systems design, sizing and selection for orders and proposals. Review / create engineering and submittal documents as below.
- Project hand off check list.
- Specification review and creation of Spec extract and compliance and exceptions log.
- Reference drawings and part codes Calculations.
- Work instructions for design Instrument data sheets, utilities consumption list, alarm settings table, logic diagram and control narrative for wet seal systems.
- Inspection test plan (ITP) and Installation & operating Manual (IOM) in accordance with Vendor requirements.
- Provide support on product coding, basic engineering advice, reference proposal drawings and experience lists for specific applications.
- Perform dimensional and design check on the output of drafting team and submittal documents for technical integrity and unit responsibility for seal & system design and associated calculations.
- Review revision requests and design changes and document lessons learnt to overcome internal errors and improve the Quality to achieve a good first pass yield.
- Respond to technical clarifications (using customer resolution sheet) and attend customer meetings to resolve issues and agree on a solid, fit for purpose, holistic design. Use in-house tools Nexus / Windchill, Application engineering program and Imaging to process and manage engineering tasks on a daily base Maintain a daily log of activities and weekly reports of jobs processed for reporting manager review on a regular base.
- Familiar with Mechanical engineering design and ANSI / API standards. Knowledge / experience on rotating equipment, mechanical seals & piping systems field and / or 0-2 years relevant experience.
Prerequisites
- Fresh Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation / Mechanical Engineering. Knowledge in AutoCAD and design in preparing assembly and component drawings in 2D and 3D. Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering specifications and drawings.
- Knowledge in basic calculations for structural analysis, flow, orifice, heat load, pressure drop etc. Good communication skills (written and verbal), self-driven, willingness to learn and stretch.
