The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent and will be responsible for coordination of all production requirements including but not limited to safety, quality, administration, scheduling, cost controls, client/sub-contractor/craft communication and management.
This position will be based out of Thunder Bay, ON.What You Will Be Working On

  • Work with the business to develop business case and feasibility studies for project intake
  • Assist with major construction projects, including liaison with Owners, Consulting Engineers and Subcontractors
  • Support with the preparation and execution of overall work plan and schedule
  • Review and process shop drawings
  • Coordination of material and equipment need
  • Prepare weekly productivity and cost tracking
  • Prepare cost estimates for change orders and audit purposes
  • Price site instructions, work orders and change notices
  • Assist with quality assurance and management of client expectations
  • Prepare monthly progress application and expedite payments
  • Provide document turnover to client at completion of project
  • Assist with maintenance of project files and preparation of reports
  • Participate in on-site safety meetings and be a leader of initiatives
  • Provide safety leadership through implementation of the Bird Safety Program and monitoring the safety performance of the project team and subcontractors
  • Foster and maintain positive relations and communication with clients, consultants, architects, and subcontractors
  • Build and manage business relationships
What We Are Looking For
  • Graduated from Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management program
  • Some experience in civil, construction, or project management would be an asset.
  • Experience on multidisciplinary projects
  • Highly motivated and able to complete assignments with minimal direct supervision
  • Knowledge of standard health, safety, and environmental requirements and practices in the construction industry
  • Driver’s license and able to operate a motor vehicle required
  • Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
  • Effective and efficient problem solving and decision-making skills; thoughtful, proactive and creative
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities, capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
