Key Responsibilities
- Act as the key resource for BIM and CAD practices, driving continuous improvement and ensuring alignment with internal and industry standards.
- Manage internal model collaboration tools, including 3D model auditing, clash detection, and follow-up activities such as meetings and reports.
- Oversee IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) exchanges, virtual construction, design and constructability reviews, augmented reality applications, and georeferencing tasks.
- Provide training to the BIM modeling team on tool functionality and ensure adherence to GE design processes and standards.
- Maintain and control the accuracy and completeness of BIM data throughout the project lifecycle, in accordance with the BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
- Edit and manage templates, link files, prepare AutoCAD drawings for reference, manage shared parameters and coordinates, and ensure the standardization of drawing outputs and technical documents.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the regional shared library of parametric MCAD models, ensuring alignment with the Regional BIM leader and the central library managed by the Central BIM Leader.
Customer and Stakeholder Interactions
- Coordinate BIM-related activities with subcontractors, partners, and clients, ensuring all parties comply with project-specific BIM requirements.
- Facilitate clear and consistent communication among internal teams, external stakeholders, and clients to ensure the successful delivery of BIM processes.
- Serve as the main point of contact for resolving BIM-related issues and ensuring that client expectations are met in a timely and efficient manner.
Reporting & Compliance
- Regularly report on BIM progress to the Project Engineering Manager of the project, but also to the Regional BIM Leader, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 19650 and other relevant BIM standards, as well as adherence to GE’s internal BIM procedures.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all BIM activities, including reports on model audits, clash detection results, and project milestones.
- Support the preparation and submission of compliance reports and documentation as required by internal and external audits.
Quality, Safety, and Security (Including Cyber)
- Ensure that all BIM processes are conducted with a strong emphasis on quality, adhering to both project-specific and company-wide standards.
- Proactively monitor and address any potential quality issues related to BIM models, data accuracy, and documentation.
- Implement and enforce safety and security protocols, including cyber security measures, to protect BIM data and project information from unauthorized access or breaches.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure that all BIM-related tools and systems are secure and comply with company policies.
Qualification, Education, and Experience
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field. A focus on BIM or digital construction is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 6 Years of experience in relevant industry .
- Certification as a BIM Coordinator is required, with previous experience in high-voltage substation projects highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 19650 standards and other relevant BIM regulations.
- Extensive experience with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (including Docs, Design Collaboration, and Model Coordination).
- Demonstrated proficiency in MCAD tools and experience with various 3D engineering design software such as Creo, E3D, Solidworks, and Tekla.
- Strong IT background with experience in cloud-based project documentation platforms and document management systems, such as Windchill Imagine.
