The Program Manager, reporting to the Senior Director of Program Management Strategy & Transformation - Ortho, will lead strategic manufacturing initiatives for Global Operations. This role emphasizes Strategy, Transformation, and Operational Excellence within the Orthopedics business, leveraging program management tools to impact various business functions.


The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in manufacturing and engineering, along with excellent stakeholder management capabilities. They must demonstrate outstanding communication and presentation skills to efficiently connect with employees and leaders at all levels. This role demands strategic thinking and keen attention to detail, using supply chain expertise (planning, procurement, manufacturing, distribution) to drive key program objectives forward.
 

What will you be doing?

  • Provides leadership to a cross-functional team, handling end-to-end value stream supply chain activities. The successful candidate will possess strong manufacturing, engineering, and stakeholder leadership skills, along with excellent communication and presentation abilities across all levels of the organization. They will be responsible for leading strategic initiatives, handling tactical details, and leveraging supply chain knowledge (planning, procurement, manufacturing, distribution) to meet program objectives.

  • Identify program benefits in an operational setting, establish governance for successful delivery, and lead planning activities to ensure scope, schedule, and resources are well-managed. They will be responsible for assessing trade-offs in project scope, schedule, and costs while maintaining a focus on program goals. The role also involves being responsible for program budgets, taking accountability for program delivery, and leading organizational transformations by encouraging a collaborative and diverse team environment.

  • In addition, the candidate will develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and mentor other project managers. They will bring technical expertise in manufacturing transfers, lead process improvements and validations, and demonstrate financial acumen in developing business cases to improve financial outcomes. Their understanding of operational settings and business drivers will ensure the successful delivery of project outputs and program benefits.
     

What will you need to be successful?

  • The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Sciences, Computer Science, MIS, or a related Finance curriculum, though a combination of education and experience may be considered instead of a degree. A Master's degree in Engineering or Business is desirable, and certifications in Project Management or Lean Six Sigma are a plus.

  • The candidate should have 6-10 years of experience in project/program management, manufacturing, and engineering, ideally within a mid to large corporate environment, with a preference for those with Medical Device Industry and international or cross-cultural work experience.

  • Preferred areas of expertise include Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Project Management. The position is largely office-based, with limited travel.
