Location - This role is onsite at our Burr Ridge production facility
About the role:
The Manufacturing Project Planner is responsible for supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the production processes and projects within our food manufacturing facility to continuously improve the plant metrics (OEE, Downtime, Leaker Rate, Attainment, etc.).
This role involves the support of the operations management team in coordinating daily production schedules, managing production/CI projects, data collection, redzone system updates/maintenance, redzone learning application content creation/coordination and owning the document control process within production. This role would also support continuous improvement and research and development activities on an as needed basis based on priorities with production leadership approval.
Responsibilities:
- Continuous Improvement: Support Continuous Improvement and front line Operations Management team in data collection allowing for the identification of opportunities to improve production efficiency and reduce waste. Partner with members of CI and R&D to work on small projects.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production output, downtime, labor tracking, and staffing performance within the ERP system as requested.
- Systems support: Keep all Manufacturing Execution Systems (Redzone) updated with latest information providing approved relevant information to employees as requested by Operations Leadership. This includes maintaining and updating all TVs in the production area, creating production related checklists, creating learning content and partnering with other departments for coordination on their respective learning content.
- Production Scheduling: Liaison between supply chain team and front line operation to coordinate daily and weekly production schedules for front line operation.
- Temporary Labor Management: Partner with preassigned third-party staffing agencies to execute the onboarding, training, attendance tracking, and hours approval for all temporary production employees required by production and support teams.
- Resource Management: Monitor and manage the availability of indirect materials and supplies for the operations team.
- Warehouse support: Liaison between warehouse supervision and supply chain teams for scheduling of deliveries and work delegation when direct supervision is not available as requested.
- Additional Duties: Administer smock distribution, manage locker assignments for both full-time and temporary staff and order operational supplies.
Experience & Skills we value:
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- 2+ years of experience in a production environment or similar role within a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production processes, document organization, and resource management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in production ERP software (Dynamics 365 preferred), Redzone (preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations (e.g., HACCP, FDA) is a plus.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing issues.

- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- BA in Business, Operations, or related field

Base Pay range for this position:
- $30.25 per hour
The final discretionary compensation that will be offered for this role depends on a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
