Job Description:
BW Papersystems is looking for a Production Planner to join our team!
Working as the Production Planner, you will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, and tracking of activities in the operation, attain best in class On-Time Delivery, Utilization, and Efficiency.
Key Responsibilities / Job Functions:
Create and maintain the Operations Capacity Plan (linking the critical areas of Machine Shop, Kitting, Assembly and others together).
Create and maintain cell/machine daily/shift build production schedules.
With the Assembly TLs, create weekly ‘earned hours’ plan.
Monitor and report the actual completed hours Vs. planned hours.
Report Assembly Utilization and Assembly Efficiency. Analyze KPIs for areas of improvement.
Create and maintain build master routings complete with operation steps, standard times, and linked parts kits. Give feedback to TLs regarding achievement of standards.
Provide signals and flags to upstream and downstream teams (example Machine Shop, Kitting, Checkout, etc.)
For machines in the build cycle, assist with identifying obstacles to completion.
Confirm 3rd party priority and delivery. Monitor and drive any 3rd party’s priorities and deliveries (example Peko, PCMC/PHL for CE, I-Auto).
Participate in the evaluation of quotations from our contracted manufacturers to assure all pertinent information is available to analyze for best possible price, quality and supply services to meet our strategic needs for the product life.
Review need for ‘balancing’ or load leveling in the Assembly department and work with all stakeholders to make adjustments (either modify the schedule or add/reduce capacity).
Review and confirm MRP dates – drive changes as necessary (with Supply Chain). Assist in the resolution of MRP and planning discrepancies.
Review production schedule requirement with upstream TLs (Supply Chain, Machine Shop & Kitting).
Perform lessons learned on machine builds and identify areas of improvement.
Basic Qualifications & Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
5+ years of production scheduling within a manufacturing environment or have high level planning experience
