We are looking for an experienced Production Planner to manage our Internal Combustion Engine plant based at our Group's facility in Grantham.
Working as a key part of the Supply Chain team, the role is to ensure we get a balanced Production Plan ensuring flow through the Supply Chain and across the group. You will be integral in creating an Integrated Business Plan in support of budgetary and customer requirements, business growth and optimization of WIP & Inventory.
The successful individual will need to have excellent Production & Capacity Planning skills along with very extensive IT skills. They must be to work well under pressure to meet deadlines and be able to prioritize workload both individually and for the team.
Please note, that our current Production Planner is due to retire at the end of the year, so the successful candidate will work closely with them to ensure a successful handover. We hope our new Production Planner will be available from August onward.
Working hours are: Monday to Thursday 08:00-16:30, and Friday 08:00-13:30 (37.5 working hours per week)

Responsibilities- Production and Sales Planning optimising Load, Capacity and Sales requirements
- Proactively manage WIP and Finished Goods inventory levels ensuring flow across all departments
- Promote excellent communication with both internal and external stakeholders
- Root Cause Analysis for variation to plan and Raw Material Shortages presenting OFI’s
- Ensure MRP and system data is accurate and managed in a proactive manner
- Ensure stock control decisions are compatible with usage requirement, minimum order quantities and Supply Chain guidelines
- Work to build strong relationships with Internal and External suppliers and monitor their performance in line with agreed metrics
- Investigate and resolve BOM issues and work on timely resolution with other stakeholders
- Manage a suite of metrics to provide accurate Management Information producing Business Improvement recommendations
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years Production Planning experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Logically minded with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to analyse and interrogate data, including strong Excel skills
- Extensive ERP System knowledge
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written in dealing with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and ability to interface with customers when required
- Ability to follow processes but also the aptitude to handle ambiguity and uncertainty
- Excellent team working skills but also good at managing own specific workload
- An organised and methodical approach to problem solving and finding resolutions
