Role Overview
The Production Manager leads assembly operations by developing people, improving processes, and delivering safe, high-quality, on-time production. This role is responsible for building an engaged, accountable team while driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost. Success in this position requires balancing operational excellence with a leadership style that earns trust, develops employees, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement. The Production Manager works cross-functionally to support business objectives and strengthen production performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead assembly operations to deliver safe, high-quality, on-time production.
  • Develop, coach, and hold production employees and supervisors accountable while maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
  • Implement and support Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, and other operational excellence initiatives.
  • Establish, monitor, and act on production KPIs, including safety, quality, throughput, labor efficiency, scrap, and schedule attainment.
  • Improve safety performance through employee engagement and consistent leadership practices.
  • Meet or exceed production, quality, and delivery goals through effective planning, communication, and execution.
  • Reduce waste and improve productivity through continuous improvement activities.
  • Collaborate effectively across Sales, Production, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain.
  • Create a culture where employees feel respected, challenged, and accountable.

What You Bring
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or a related technical field, or equivalent manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Five or more years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably precision manufacturing or complex assembly.
  • Demonstrated success leading production teams while improving safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, or similar operational excellence initiatives.
  • Proven ability to coach, develop, and hold employees accountable while maintaining positive working relationships and fostering employee engagement.
  • Experience establishing and monitoring production KPIs, including safety, quality, throughput, labor efficiency, scrap, and schedule attainment.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across Sales, Production, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through change, build trust, and create a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong judgment, sound decision-making, and the ability to make timely decisions in support of business objectives.
