Ideal Candidate:
Candidates should have the desire to explore or pursue a career in the manufacturing industry and be committed to completing the approximately 12-week summer hire program. Candidates will be high school or college students 17 years of age or older.
The candidate is expected to:
- Arrive on-time each day or follow proper call-in procedures if they will be late or absent.
- Be dressed in proper work attire, including wearing the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while on the plant floor.
- Learn and comply with Company policies and safety procedures.
- Maintain proper communication with their supervisor, Team Lead, and other assigned mentors.
- Be an active participant in learning by asking questions, sharing ideas, being open to new experiences, and receiving feedback.
- Be prepared to work and learn.
Full-Time Schedule:
- Monday – Thursday, 5:00 am – 2:00 pm
- Fridays, if needed - 6:00 am - 10:00 am
Part-Time Schedule:
- At least 20 hours/week
- Consistent work schedule determined before hire (certain days per week or certain reduced hours per day)
Other Details:
- $17.00 per hour
- Work hours capped at 40 hours per week
- Paid holidays (policy details apply)
- Paid Minnesota Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) hours available as accrued
- Unpaid vacation time off per supervisor approval
- Free on-site physical therapist
- Offered candidates must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
Program Details:
Introduction to Quanex – Learn the workflow of the business by spending time in each department observing, working, and learning at a high level what each department does.
Job Assignment – Be a part of something bigger. Gain team oriented hands-on experience by actively working in one of our 4 assembly or paint departments. Learn the details of your step in the process and to monitor product output to ensure quality standards are being met.
