Build the data foundations behind modern banking

Are you curious about how data turns into products and decisions? Do you enjoy asking questions, understanding how things fit together, and working with different people to create better customer experiences?

At Avarda, we're looking for ambitious graduates and early-career professionals to join our 18-month Product Trainee Program in Gdańsk, within our Data Platform team.

From day one, you'll become part of a real product team, working alongside experienced Product Managers, data engineers, analysts, and business specialists. You'll learn by doing, contribute to meaningful work, take ownership of real initiatives, and gradually grow into the role of a Junior Product Manager with the support of an experienced mentor.

Throughout the programme, you'll gain a broad understanding of how data moves through a bank, from a customer action or card transaction, through core banking, payment and servicing systems, into trusted datasets that support reporting, analytics, and business decisions across our European markets.

Few people in a bank can explain that journey end-to-end. You will.

What You'll Work On

Every product decision starts with data people can trust. This is a product role, not an engineering role. Your responsibility will be to understand:

  • How data flows through the bank

  • Who depends on that data

  • Why the data matters

  • How to ensure the right things get built

During the programme, you'll:
  • Learn how data is generated within core banking, payments, and servicing systems

  • Work closely with analysts, Risk, Finance, and other business teams

  • Understand how data is consumed across different markets and functions

  • Participate in discussions with external data providers and partners

  • Document data flows and business processes

  • Write clear business requirements and product tickets

  • Support prioritisation and roadmap discussions

  • Help bridge the gap between business stakeholders and engineering teams

You'll also develop expertise in:
  • Data governance and quality

  • Privacy and regulatory requirements

  • Banking and financial services data flows

  • Automated decision-making processes, including:

    • Customer onboarding

    • Credit limit management

    • Fraud prevention

  • Product management practices and stakeholder management

This Programme Is a Great Fit If You
  • Enjoy asking questions until something complex finally makes sense

  • Like structure, documentation, and bringing order to ambiguity

  • Are comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Are curious about how regulation, customer needs, and technology come together

  • Want to understand the "why" behind data requirements, not just what the system does

Who You Are

We're far more interested in your mindset and potential than whether you've done this before.

You'll likely thrive here if you:

  • Are naturally curious and enjoy learning new things

  • Want to understand why things work the way they do

  • Are comfortable navigating complex and evolving environments

  • Enjoy understanding how systems, processes, and people connect

  • Think critically and solve problems from multiple perspectives

  • Challenge ideas constructively and evaluate trade-offs

  • Take ownership and follow through on commitments

  • Communicate clearly in English

  • Enjoy collaborating with colleagues across multiple countries

  • Are outcome-focused and eager to continuously learn and develop

  • Have a genuine interest in digital products and data-driven decision-making

Nice to Have

Experience in any of the following areas is a bonus, but not required:

  • AI tools and AI-assisted ways of working

  • SQL, spreadsheets, dashboards, or other data-related tools

  • APIs, databases, or system integrations

  • Business analysis

  • Product development

  • Process improvement initiatives
