- New product proposals to maintain regulation compliance & competitive product portfolio
- Review potential opportunities for new product proposals, conduct viability analysis with multiple product options, gauge on potential Pros and Cons, narrow down on recommendation to top management with necessary data analysis.
- Formulate Product enhancement strategy, support for business case preparation & project business case approval
- Interact continuously with cross-functions to arrive at viable business propositions
- Conduct product evaluation across propulsion systems viz. diesel, bio-diesel, gas and electric propulsion system.
- Define timeline for new product projects based on design, development, validation, try-outs and production.
- Planning and Strategizing Future Project List (FPL) with focus on Regulations, Lifecycle & growth
- Schedule recurring project meetings with clear agenda for respective programs, keep minutes of meeting and ensure follow up and execution of decisions taken and tasks defined
- Compilation of Project documentations (e.g. quality gates).
- Project reporting dashboards for Top-Management Committees such as CTM (Core Team Meeting), IPC (India Product Committee), IPB (India Product Board) and TE PSC (Executive Committee)
- Reporting of project status to Top Management through regular (weekly, biweekly, monthly) status report
- Conduct study and report current industry trends, Portfolio gaps, Customer experience, Supplier technology roadmap and competition benchmarking
- Ensure delivery of high priority management tasks as per demand from time to time
- Coordination, render support, guide and mentoring other team members
- Optimize process for Product planning & Adopt best practices
Experience and Skills
- 3 - 8 years of work experience in Product planning and Product management or any relevant technical core functions.
- Open minded, Curious to learn new technologies, Rapid learning skills and data oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of product management processes (like CVDS), Change Management and Variant management processes.
- Experience in cross-functional project work/Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills, Open minded and Strong Commitment.
- Knowledge of Technical and Market know-how on Indian CV landscape.
- Excellent Communication skills (Written, Presentation and Verbal).
- Experience on Data analysis tools will be an advantage.
- Candidates with German language communication skills will have an added advantage.
Education & Training
- Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Skills Required
- 3 - 8 years experience in product planning, product management, or relevant technical core functions
- Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Knowledge of product management processes (like CVDS), change management and variant management processes
- Knowledge of technical and market aspects of the Indian commercial vehicle (CV) landscape
- Experience in cross-functional project work and strong interpersonal skills
