The Product Owner identifies opportunities to use systems to improve business performance and capabilities. Facilitates the management of Team Backlog, engaging with development teams, product management, and business stakeholders to capture and translate business needs into user stories.  Key liaison between business partners and technical teams.  Responsible for translating business solutions and needs into working user stories and requirements.  Analyzes, communicates and validates solutions to business, while working closely with Scrum Development teams and business product management. Responsible for managing and prioritizing the Team Backlog, to align with key business objectives.

This position works closely with our Cybersecurity team. 1-3 years Cybersecurity experience is preferred.

Location: Indianapolis, IN preferred; Candidates must currently reside in the Eastern or Central time zones with close proximity to a major airport. Candidates must have the ability to travel nationally as needed, including to our Indianapolis, IN Central Office.

Responsibilities

Accountabilities

  • Define and Capture and defines business needs into user stories.
  • Documents and make recommendations on current and future state business processes.
  • Facilitate agile meetings with development team and business to identify risks, requirements and specifications.
  • Facilitate demo of completed development stories.
  • Make recommendations on the development of future product enhancements with business.

Problem Solving & Analysis

  • Identify processes that would result in reduced costs, increased efficiencies or closer alignment to company objective.
  • Recommend solutions based on established best practices.
  • Use analytical thinking to solves problems.
  • Select from a limited range of options to solve problems.

Decision Making / Autonomy

  • Issue not defined by best practices are escalated to manager.
  • Make tactical decisions that are driven by the priorities of the project and that fall within defined procedures.
  • Nearly self-sufficient and capable of working with limited supervision.

Communications / Interactions

  • Communicate with management to capture user requirements.
  • Receive and transmits information requiring some explanation or interpretation, typically to members of one project team.
  • Provide support to less experienced associates.
