Position Summary
We’re seeking a Senior Manager, Product Market Strategy to drive what we build and who we serve for the Collector product line. This role is responsible for strategy development and execution guidance for future growth initiatives, with a focus on translating market insights, customer needs, and business opportunities into well-vetted plans that support product growth and company objectives.

About the Team
The Product Market Strategy team provides critical direction across the full product lifecycle, from definition through launch. In this role, you’ll lead strategy for the Physician Staffing and Management Services customer segment, including emergency department-related workflows, as part of the Collector Product Strategy team. You’ll partner across Product Management, R&D, Sales, Service, Finance, Marketing, and executive leadership to shape product direction, go-to-market plans, and business outcomes.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of business cases, product-market strategy, and operations strategy for the Physician Staffing and Management Services customer segment.
  • Gather, synthesize, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data, market research, and customer insights to inform strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to influence product strategy and shape product vision and go-to-market plans.
  • Execute go-to-market strategy for new product launches and manage complex cross-functional projects.
  • Support organizational alignment around a shared vision and clarify how roadmap features and enhancements deliver value and advance company goals.
  • Support definition of value proposition, market-facing proof points, packaging, pricing frameworks, and P&L considerations where applicable.
  • Collaborate with product management counterparts on roadmap development that supports the defined vision, goals, and initiatives.
  • Partner with product analytics and client analytics to define KPIs, insights, dashboards, and client-facing reporting.
  • Present strategic recommendations and business cases to internal and external audiences.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree, MA, MBA, or equivalent experience in Product Management/Strategy, Public Health, Business, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Rev Cycle for a Physician Staffing and Management Services organization.
  • Experience in product management or strategy, preferably within a Physician Staffing and Management Services organization.
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to develop data-driven business cases.
  • Experience leading market research and using data-driven analysis to define paths forward.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to craft messaging, synthesize complex problems, and influence cross-functional leadership.
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations to internal and external audiences

Expected Compensation

$136,000 - $230,000

The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates.  Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
