The Team:

The Support Environments team provides the applications that enable athenistas to demo to prospects, onboard and train new users, build integrations, and support the users of athenaOne , our suite of EHR, RCM, and patient engagement solutions and services. The team’s product area is a critical component of the go-to-market strategy for the rapidly growing athenaOne offering, including our medical specialty-specific workflows, value-based care capabilities, extended revenue cycle management services and the athenahealth Marketplace. The team works with stakeholders across our athenaOne Engineering, Product, Customer Success, Integration Services and Sales organizations.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Product Manager to help guide product development and delivery for the athenahealth Support Environments team.

You will work closely with the product leadership team: understand end users and leadership goals; prioritize the product roadmap for your team; collaborate with engineering to ensure delivery of high-quality, high-impact features; and drive rollout and adoption in partnership with product operations and client-facing teams.

The Product Manager is responsible for assigned product area within their overarching Product’s portfolio; understanding the market and customer, contributing to a product vision, developing business cases, ensuring a product or set of product features meets business requirements and driving the creation and delivery of the product. In this role, you will serve as the Product Owner working daily with scrum teams defining and writing user stories, prioritizing product backlogs and making trade off decisions between scope and schedule.

This is a hybrid role based in our Chennai office with an in-office expectation of one day/week.

Education, Experience, & Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Degree (Bachelor’s or Masters) in healthcare related field, business, computer science or engineering preferred
  • Understanding of healthcare / health IT environment preferred
  • 5+ years overall professional experience; 2 - 5 years of product management experience or related experience
  • Experience working with stakeholders in a business environment across global cross-functional groups 
  • Understanding of product management best practices, including agile development environments
  • Experience bringing products to market
  • Demonstrated success at driving innovation in a dynamic environment using analytic and quantitative capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize and to multi-task in a face paced environment, manage several projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and communicate potential conflicts to manager
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of an extended, cross-functional team
  • Travel required, predicting 5-10%; may include site visits, conferences, and trainings.
