PRODUCT MANAGER

R1 product managers are driven to make a difference in healthcare, by re-thinking the patient experience, reducing the administrative burden on physicians, and ensuring our clients can focus on patient care. The product team is responsible for driving delivery of critical roadmap capabilities. Product Manager IIIs shape our technology vision and help hospitals as they navigate the complex healthcare payments landscape. PM IIIs gather inspiration and ideas by visiting users regularly and reviewing software and products that solve similar problems in other domains. This role requires broad and deep product planning experience, intellectual curiosity, relentless resourcefulness, artful negotiation skills, and a deep passion for the role of product management. 

What You’ll Do:  

• Use data to identify and validate opportunities, build a business case, and articulate value, including cost-benefit analyses to help the business prioritize projects.  

• Make tough trade-off decisions between scope and schedule, while maintaining true focus on outcomes, and understand how to track, measure, and communicate outcomes. 

• Interact with business managers, end users, and engineering to articulate requirements, product vision, business priorities, feature requests, bugs, and deployment timelines. 

• Meet pre-defined P&L commitments and project delivery timelines. 

• Manage release scope and communication to ensure product adoption.  

• Drive development of new features by interpreting business needs, composing user stories and acceptance criteria in an agile environment.  

• Manage scrum team(s) and work closely with engineering leads to feed the teams a constant pipeline of high-value work for each sprint.  

• Work with stakeholders to guide the release of new features and the successful integration and/or migration of current operations onto those products. 

• Ensure product quality by performing thorough user acceptance testing.  

• Quickly identify blockers, developing a mitigation strategy or escalating to leadership where needed.  

 

What you’ll bring: 

Ability to thrive in ambiguity

• Good organization skills, including plotting a path towards delivering outcomes that drive value for the for the business 

• Deep user empathy and collaborative mindset 

• Ability to communicate, present, and engage with Director+ level stakeholders to explain complex information in a non-complex fashion 

Passion for product innovation and expertise on industry advancements 

Demonstrated strategic mindset 

Must haves: 

Minimum BS, BA in healthcare, business, engineering, or related field 

• Minimum 5 yrs Product Management experience 

• Healthcare experience-- specifically in Healthcare Revenue Cycle and/or Revenue Integrity Applications 

• Mastery of Agile fundamentals with demonstrated experience to drive execution within an Agile environment 

• Exposure to high-level technology paradigms (e.g. data flows, APIs, services) 

• Experience interfacing directly with technology leaders and engineers  

• Ability to travel up to 20%, as necessary 

Nice to haves: 

• Master’s degree (MBA, MHA) 

• Experience shipping both new products, as well as improving upon existing ones 

• Experience using Azure DevOps or Jira 

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $46,500.00 - $104,629.00 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
