The Role

About Us:

Healthcare is innovating and you can be a part of it. Getting data from one provider to another, or from a provider to a health insurance company, is harder than it should be. Our mission is to change this - to accelerate innovation by easing the data access burden. Imagine developing solutions that accelerate digital transformation. This is what we do at Rhapsody. By providing data exchange and data quality solutions that enable information- such as patient visit details, lab results, and billing balances- to move seamlessly from one system to another. Whether building an application or using one, every piece of the health ecosystem needs Rhapsody as a foundation.

Most people will not ever see our products (that's how infrastructure works) and services during a medical visit. Our solutions run behind the scenes, and you can think of them as the central nervous system helping to move data to accelerate innovation and improve outcomes. If using your knowledge to help solve this important problem sounds rewarding, apply today at rhapsody.health.

What we have to offer you:

  • Comprehensive benefits package on day 1 (medical, dental, vision, life, disability)
  • 401k with a generous company match
  • Unlimited PTO, sick time & volunteer days
  • An innovative, inclusive, and fun work environment
  • Continuous learning and development opportunities
  • Complete flexibility. We encourage employees to work where, when, and how it makes sense for them and enables them to bring their best self to work

Strong preference for candidates willing and able to commute on a recurring basis to the local Rhapsody office in Boston, MA or Frisco, TX

Position Summary:

As the Product Manager at a market-leading health technology company, you will be responsible for driving successful development and commercialization of new products, features and product adjacencies. You will help shape the Product's strategy and roadmap in line with our overall business goals and vision, as well as the commercialization and optimization opportunities you learn through interaction with customers and prospects.

The role requires a high-degree of cross-functional collaboration, rigorous market analysis, and fostering a customer-centric approach to product development. As the quarterback to your product's commercial success, communication and leadership will be key to success in this role. You will work with software engineering to design and build the optimal solutions, with product marketing and communications to help define the go-to-market strategy, with our growth and services organizations to support the sales channel and key customers - and with all the above to discover and effectively solve for the right business problems. In addition, you will often directly communicate with company leadership to ensure wider strategic alignment with your product.

As a mid-sized company with globally-distributed development and delivery teams and more than 1,700 domestic and international customers, you will regularly collaborate with others across borders and across business contexts, helping to drive alignment and execution of your product in all relevant markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Product Execution: Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation and prioritization to execution and release, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery by adopting and rigorously adhering to product commercialization and software development methodologies, while maintaining clear functional requirements and roadmaps for your products.
  2. Product Strategy: Define and align product execution with business objectives - considering market trends, customer needs, and competition - to develop strategies and tactics to long- and short-term success.
  3. Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape to inform the product commercialization approach, including positioning, differentiation, and pricing. Create clarity around segmentation, ROI, and commercial value proposition for the product.
  4. Voice of the Customer: Incorporate customer feedback into the product strategy and roadmap, adopting a "customer in" approach to solving problems while simultaneously acting as an evangelist to the market.
  5. Cross-functional Collaboration: Liaise with marketing, sales, support, and engineering to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout product development and to achieve shared goals.

Competencies:

  • Leadership. Able to influence, motivate, and unify teams to achieve product delivery and commercialization objectives, fostering a sense of mutual trust and shared goals.
  • Execution. Deliver, deliver, deliver. Intrinsically motivated to create and drive the processes and discipline to build commercially successful high-quality products.
  • Communication. Able to clearly convey the value of your products to inspire collaborators and customers of our product around the globe.
  • Customer Focus. Prioritize customer experience and value of users in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Business Acumen. Successful products not only satisfy customers but also generate meaningful financial outcomes (revenues and/or cost efficiencies). Quickly evaluate market situations, identify profit opportunities, and generate revenue.
  • Structured Thinking. Break down goals into manageable tasks to ensure that you can deliver value within the context and constraints of the evolving marketplace and business conditions.
  • Creativity. Very often, product managers face challenges that do not always have clear-cut answers or require "impossible trade-offs". Employ creative thinking to drive unconventional problem-solving.
  • Enthusiasm and Resilience. Transmit enthusiasm, demonstrate resilience in overcoming challenges, and commit to digging deeper and finding optimal solutions.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience, such as: product management, technology entrepreneurship, software development, product marketing, clinical research, or operations.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills are a must, including the ability to absorb and process large amounts of data into actionable information.
  • Comfortable holding professional conversations with both internal and external stakeholders, such as target buyers and users.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to customer, prospect and internal team sites.
  • A passion for building technology that will delight users around the globe while building connections for a healthier world.
