Product Manager III
Team Description:
Travel is unpredictable — flights cancel, bags go missing, plans change. Our Insurtech team builds the protection layer that turns those moments from trip-enders into non-events, across Expedia, Hotels.com, and Vrbo. We sit at the intersection of a two-sided marketplace, a regulated financial product, and one of the richest traveler datasets in the world which means the surface area for smart product work is enormous: embedded attach experiences, servicing delighters and AI-driven personalization of what "protection" even means for each traveler.
In this role, you will own product strategy and roadmap for a core Insurtech area (e.g., embedded protection attach), driving it from ambiguous problem to shippable requirements in partnership with engineering, design, data science, and legal/compliance. Run the roadmap on data and experimentation—prioritizing by attach-rate lift, designing compliant A/Bs, and balancing conversion, unit economics, and traveler trust—while building reusable platform capabilities and applying AI/ML (recommendations, pricing signals, agent-assist) safely within a regulated environment.
In This Role, You Will:
- Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for a core area of the Insurtech portfolio e.g., embedded attach in the post-booking protection upsell aligning to EG's attach, revenue, and traveler NPS goals across brands and points of sale.
- Translate ambiguous problems into crisp requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, and drive them to delivery with engineering, design, data science, legal/compliance, and our partners.
- Use data and experimentation to run the roadmap, not just report on it: prioritize backlog by expected lift on attach rate, design A/Bs and holdouts that respect regulatory constraints; make explicit trade-offs between conversion, unit economics, and traveler trust.
- Deliver outcomes end-to-end — from discovery and carrier/product structuring, through launch across brands and regulated markets, to scaled adoption and continuous optimization with a bias toward operational excellence
- Drive platform thinking across Insurtech and adjacent teams (checkout, trip management, customer service,) so that protection capabilities are reusable across products, brands, B2C, and B2B surfaces rather than rebuilt each time.
- Apply AI/ML pragmatically to real Insurtech problems: personalized coverage recommendations, dynamic pricing signals, agent-assist for support. Safely integrate these into a regulated product, including guardrails, human-in-the-loop where required, and clear success metrics.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in a technical, analytical, business, or related field, or equivalent practical experience in product delivery within technology organizations.
- Professional experience as a Product Manager, including ownership of a product, feature set, or service from discovery through launch and iteration, working with engineering and design in an agile environment.
- Proven ability to define product requirements, write clear user stories or PRDs, interpret data and metrics, and use experimentation or A/B testing to inform roadmap decisions for consumer facing products.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with engineering on system behavior, API-level requirements, data flows, and dependencies to ensure robust, scalable, and reliable product solutions.
- Familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real-world products in partnership with engineering, data science, or analytics teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience taking products from concept to scaled adoption, including defining success metrics, validating problem-solution fit, and managing iterative releases at scale — ideally in personalization, conversion optimization, or checkout/funnel domains.
- Experience leading product strategy in complex technical environments, including partnering with engineering on system design, integration patterns, and operational readiness.
- Track record of driving measurable impact using data, experimentation, and customer insights; comfortable working with analytics, experimentation platforms, and instrumentation requirements — particularly in high-traffic, high-stakes conversion funnels.
- Experience influencing cross-functional and cross-organizational stakeholders, resolving conflicting priorities, and driving alignment on roadmaps and trade-offs across multiple teams or domains.
- Experience leveraging AI productivity tools (Cursor, Claude, Figma AI) and low-code agent platforms (Alloy, n8n) to accelerate product development and automate workflows is preferred.
