As our Italy Launch Lead, you will be responsible for leading the successful launch of Nemolizumab in Italy. This position involves developing the launch strategy, leading the launch team, collaborating with local and international colleagues, upskilling the commercial team, especially around the skillset required for launching a biologic treatment, executing marketing initiatives, managing KOL relationships, and driving the growth and market presence of Nemolizumab. This is a critical leadership role that will oversee the first biologic launch for the company.

Job Responsibilities

Pre Launch

  • Overall Launch Strategy and Planning: Lead the execution of the launch strategy and comprehensive plans for Nemolizumab in Italy, considering market dynamics, competitive landscape, and patient needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Lead dedicated marketing team for Italy
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Facilitate effective collaboration and coordination among various functions involved in the launch, such as marketing, medical affairs, regulatory, and market access. Ensure alignment on objectives, activities, and messaging, and promote cross-functional teamwork and communication.
  • Launch Execution and Monitoring: Oversee the implemfentation of launch activities and ensure their timely execution, tracking progress against the plan. Monitor key performance indicators, analyze market trends, and identify potential risks or opportunities, making necessary adjustments to optimize the launch strategy.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage and build relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups, key opinion leaders . Collaborate with medical affairs to develop and implement KOL engagement strategies and educational initiatives.
  • Market Insights and Competitive Intelligence: Gather and analyze market insights, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback to inform the launch strategy and identify areas for differentiation. Stay up-to-date with market trends, treatment guidelines, and competitor activities to ensure a competitive positioning for Nemolizumab.
  • Budget Management: Collaborate with finance team to develop and manage the launch budget effectively. Monitor expenses, track financial performance, and ensure appropriate allocation of resources to achieve launch objectives

Post Launch

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies and plans for the nemolizumab franchise postlaunch, ensuring alignment with business objectives and targets.

  • Collaborate with international colleagues to provide input on global strategies, share best practices, and participate in international marketing meetings:

  • Implement pilot projects to explore new opportunities and optimize marketing activities within the franchise.

  • Support market research projects and utilize insights to refine marketing strategies and tactics.

  • Monitor and control sales performance, costs, and market trends, making data-driven decisions to drive franchise growth.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and control of marketing activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and ethical standards.

Minimum requirements

  • Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry in commercial functions (marketing, sales, analytics, market access)
  • Experience in dermatology/immunology preferred, experience with launching biologics required
  • Extensive cross-functional experience required, proven track record of collaboration and coordination with key internal and external stakeholders (including external agency partners) • Pre-launch and launch experience in competitive markets
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills: ability to articulate a point of view succinctly and effectively to senior leaders and external customers
  • Comprehensive analytical/strategic thinking skills; demonstrated ability to utilize data in fact-based decision-making (data to insights, to action).
  • Provide solid business rationale, clear sense of structure, accountability, timelines, and urgency
  • Ability and confidence to work effectively across a global matrix enterprise and influence without authority
  • Adaptability, resilience and tenacity and ability to quickly pivot
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or business with master’s degree preferred
  • Proficient in English, MS Office; especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Availability to travel >50% time
