Internship Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Master's Student Intern who combines technical curiosity, analytical thinking, and a passion for compliance with an interest in leveraging digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve regulatory intelligence, product compliance processes, and decision-making.
This 6-month internship, located in Cham (ZG), provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience at Specialized, working at the intersection of engineering, product development, regulatory compliance, quality, and sustainability within the cycling industry. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced professionals and cross-functional teams to support compliance activities, contribute to product development projects, and develop expertise in international regulations, standards, testing, certification, and market access requirements.
How You’ll Make a Difference
- Product Compliance & Regulatory Support
- Support compliance engineers in monitoring, assessing, and interpreting product safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including regulations such as the European Battery Regulation and Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation.
- Assist in the review, organization, and maintenance of technical documentation, test reports, declarations of conformity, and certification records.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of compliance-related documentation, databases, and tracking tools.
- Contribute to regulatory research and regulatory intelligence activities.
- Product Development & Validation
- Participate in product development activities to understand how regulatory and compliance requirements are integrated into product design and validation processes.
- Support laboratory testing, certification, and product validation activities.
- Assist with compliance risk assessments and investigations related to product safety and regulatory requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate and collaborate with internal stakeholders across Engineering, Quality, Product Management, and Operations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on compliance processes, documentation management, and data quality.
- Prepare presentations, summaries, and reports to communicate findings, recommendations, and project progress.
- Digital & AI-Enabled Compliance
- Explore opportunities to leverage AI and digital technologies to enhance regulatory intelligence, data analysis, productivity, and compliance decision-making.
- Apply sound engineering judgment when evaluating AI-generated insights while ensuring data integrity and regulatory compliance.
What You Need to Win
- Currently enrolled in a relevant Master's degree program, such as Engineering, Materials Science, Product Development, Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work with technical information, test data, standards, and documentation.
- Experience with AI-based tools and Microsoft Office is an advantage.
- Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs and apply sound judgment.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and committed to data accuracy.

- Able to work independently and collaborate effectively in a multicultural team.
