Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure the implementation, maintenance, and compliance of the purchasing and logistics-related activities in the Procurement function to support the businesses. Each day, you will execute assigned activities as per ABB standard procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by delivering and participating in training programs as required to ensure compliance and to foster professional development.
The work model for the role is: #Li-Onsite
This role is contributing to the Electrification business in Distribution Solution division at Nashik, India.
You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Executing purchasing and logistics strategies to support the business by optimizing costs, quality, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products.
  • Designing and implementing plans and effective strategies for local sourcing of products/materials to reach business targets.
  • Supporting in implementing effective local sourcing strategies in line with business strategy to meet current and future business requirements.
  • Applying and implementing procurement standards, tools, and processes in your area of responsibility to secure quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability.

Qualifications for the role
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (should be full-time)
  • Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Vendor Development, or Supply Chain.
  • Develop parts/products as per drawings and specifications, and negotiate pricing, Incoterms, payment terms, and logistics arrangements.
  • Manage supplier development and evaluation in collaboration with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Drive cost reduction, VA/VE, alternate sourcing, process improvement, and low-cost country sourcing initiatives.
  • Resolve supplier-related technical and commercial issues, improve supplier quality and on-time delivery, and de-bottleneck critical or single-source parts.
  • Support new product development, prototyping, productionization, and procurement of indirect and packaging materials, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
