About the position
This is a role spanning procurement projects, analytics, and process improvement. The Specialist II helps run procurement initiatives end to end, turns spend data into insight, and improves how the team works through best practices and AI.
That work sits on a solid operational foundation. Day to day, the role supports Purchase Order and contract workflow creation and maintenance throughout the year, coordinating and aligning stakeholder budgetary amounts into Purchase Orders, placing new orders on time, and engaging with Accounts Payable to keep the process running smoothly. It also engages in supplier management, project coordination, process improvement efforts, and other activities.Core Competencies

What will the Procurement Specialist II be doing?

This is a broad role spanning procurement projects, analytics, and process improvement. The Specialist II helps run procurement initiatives end to end, turns spend data into insight, and improves how the team works through best practices and AI.

  • Spend Analysis & Analytics: Collect, organize, and analyze procurement and third-party cost data to surface trends, supplier concentration, and savings opportunities. Build and maintain dashboards and reporting that give the team a clear, current view of spend.

  • AI & Efficiency: Identify, pilot, and roll out AI tools and automations that make procurement faster and smarter — from spend analytics to deal and contract analysis — and share best practices so the whole team benefits.

  • Procurement Project Management: Coordinate and drive procurement projects end to end, keeping stakeholders, timelines, and deliverables on track and getting ahead of blockers.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and recommend process enhancements within procurement, applying best practices and AI to improve data accuracy, speed, and efficiency.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a cross-functional liaison between procurement, finance, and other departments, coordinating across a range of initiatives and processes and keeping stakeholders aligned with accurate, up-to-date information.

  • Supplier Competitiveness: Assess competitiveness between suppliers and recommend action.

  • Purchase Order Management: Create, coordinate, and manage purchase orders and their continuity through the P2P process.

  • Contract Workflows: Support contract workflows and their approvals, aligned and linked with the corresponding purchase orders.

  • Global Procurement Projects: Participate in global procurement projects, seeking improvement opportunities that maximize the benefit to Remitly.

Position requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
  • At least 3 years of work experience in Purchasing, Finance, or Accounting; Familiarity with procurement processes and contract management.

  • Excellent English communication skills — will be communicating with globally diverse teams and top-management key stakeholders.

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, or similar), experience in AI tools is highly desirable.

  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau or similar); experience in SQL is highly preferred.

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks with great precision and a high degree of urgency with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments where decisions are made without compromising customer experience or financial loss.

Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with SQL and database tools for advanced data analysis.
  • Experience building or using AI tools and automations in a procurement, finance, or analytics setting.

  • Experience in process improvement and documentation.

  • Certification in Data Analysis, Accounting, Finance, or Purchasing.

  • Continuous improvement certification: Lean, Six Sigma, or similar.
