Job DescriptionPosition Overview:
AECOM is seeking an experienced Procurement & Supply Chain Management (SCM) Lead to provide programme-level oversight of procurement, manufacturing, logistics, inspection, and delivery activities across a large-scale hybrid renewable energy programme. The role is responsible for maintaining end-to-end supply chain visibility, identifying risks to critical-path equipment and materials, and driving mitigation and recovery actions to support programme delivery objectives.
The position serves as the primary interface for supply chain monitoring and escalation across project packages, ensuring timely reporting of procurement and logistics risks while supporting informed decision-making by programme leadership and the Client.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Supply Chain Governance
- Establish and maintain consolidated programme-wide visibility of procurement, manufacturing, factory acceptance testing (FAT), inspection status, dispatch, and delivery activities.
- Develop and maintain supply chain reporting frameworks, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Monitor package-level procurement progress against project schedules and critical milestones.
Risk Identification & Mitigation
- Identify long-lead equipment and critical path supply chain risks impacting programme delivery.
- Assess risks associated with vendor capacity, manufacturing performance, transportation constraints, preservation requirements, equipment damage, and replacement lead times.
- Develop mitigation recommendations and recovery strategies for emerging risks.
Logistics & Expediting Management
- Coordinate expediting and recovery actions with package SCM teams, contractors, OEMs, and project leadership.
- Monitor transportation, customs clearance, warehousing, and site delivery performance.
- Escalate logistics bottlenecks and supply chain disruptions affecting project schedules.
Inspection & Manufacturing Coordination
- Interface with quality and inspection teams regarding manufacturing progress, inspection schedules, FAT readiness, and release status.
- Coordinate procurement and manufacturing updates to ensure alignment with project schedule requirements.
- Support readiness assessments for critical equipment deliveries and installation activities.
Reporting & Stakeholder Management
- Prepare regular reports highlighting procurement status, delivery performance, and key supply chain risks.
- Communicate schedule impacts arising from procurement delays, transportation restrictions, material shortages, and critical spare requirements.
- Provide factual delivery records and evidence-based reporting to support commercial evaluations and programme decision-making.
Programme Support
- Collaborate with planning, construction, quality, and package management teams to ensure integrated programme delivery.
- Support programme leadership in identifying recovery opportunities and supply chain optimization initiatives.
- Contribute to executive reviews, risk workshops, and programme governance meetings.
Minimum Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Professional certifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Project Management are desirable.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, logistics, or project delivery environments.
- Experience on large-scale infrastructure, renewable energy, power, transmission, or EPC projects preferred.
- Proven experience managing critical equipment procurement and international logistics activities.
