Job DescriptionWe’re looking for a Procurement Lead to join our Third Party Management and Procurement Team in London (UK).
This role will focus on scoping and building out our Marketing & Events category. It's a unique opportunity for somebody talented looking to take the next step in their career and build out the category from scratch, help deliver Wise’s mission of money without borders, and grow within a global, fast-paced listed company environment while ensuring our key deals deliver the best value for money for Wise.
Wise is a fast growing business so we expect that the right candidate will be able to clearly demonstrate exceptional behaviours and commercial prowess which have resulted in material commercial outcomes in prior organisations.
Your mission:
At Wise, our mission is to make money borderless — and Procurement plays a key role in making that happen. We enable smarter, data-driven sourcing decisions that ensure Wise partners with the right suppliers, minimises risk, and drives maximum value from every third-party investment. Our goal? To make buying at Wise as seamless and frictionless as sending money across borders.
Procurement sits within our Third Party Management (TPM) function, alongside Third Party Risk Management, IntraGroup Services, and TPM Tooling. We’re a new and rapidly growing team that supports the business across all third party purchases.
This is your chance to help shape what Procurement looks like at Wise — providing an exceptional standard of customer service, building scalable processes, driving innovation, and helping us create a best-in-class global procurement function from the ground up!
Your mission is to enable, protect, and empower the business and people of Wise by ensuring Wise’s purchases support our commercial objectives, flow through frictionless processes and deliver the best value for money.
About the Role:
Develop and execute long-term procurement strategies that align with Wise's business objectives. This includes conducting market analysis to stay ahead of industry trends and predict shifts in supply and demand.
There is no people management at current in this role, but this individual will have scope to build out their pipeline and build a business case to hire.
Strategically partner with the business acting as their main point of contact whilst building robust relationships with stakeholders within the organization. Facilitate regular cross-departmental meetings to ensure alignment between procurement strategies and business objectives.
Lead efforts to achieve cost reductions and optimization of spend across categories. Utilize analytical and financial skills to assess total cost of ownership and budget impact of procurement decisions.
Evaluate and support selection of suppliers, utilizing robust criteria for quality, price, and reliability.
Identify opportunities for consolidating suppliers, renegotiating contracts, or initiating new proposals.
Assisting in the creation of risk mitigation strategies to address supply chain disruptions. Stay informed about political and economic environments impacting supply chains and support the development of contingency plans.
Stay up to date on initiatives aimed at sustainable and ethical sourcing to enhance Wise's reputation and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Advocate for and implement innovative procurement technologies and process automation to enhance procurement processes, increase efficiency, and reduce manual tasks.
Mentor and develop procurement team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations while promoting integrity and transparency across all operations.
Stay abreast of industry best practices and leverage them to improve Wise's procurement processes and strategy. Encourage creative problem-solving and new procurement solutions to maximize organizational effectiveness.
This role will give you the opportunity to:
Choose your path to impact. As a Lead You’ll take ownership from day one. Of course, you will have feedback from smart, curious people across Wise but you’ll experience unique levels of ownership and empowerment within your role.
Be extremely hands on. No far away leaders in Wise, and in this role you’d be expected to take on the work yourself.
Be part of our mission to make money without borders the new normal.
