About the role:
This role supports the effective implementation of Process Safety standards on site, ensuring hazards are properly identified and risks are controlled. It monitors the sustainability of critical controls and works closely with teams to maintain safe and compliant operations.
Role Responsibilities:
The Process Safety Specialist supports the effective implementation of Diageo’s Process Safety policies and standards at the Tarsus /Alasehir site. The role works closely with site operations to ensure hazards are properly identified, risk assessments are conducted, and appropriate control measures are implemented.
This position collaborates with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to strengthen process safety culture on site. Through field presence, technical reviews, and daily interactions, the role promotes safe behaviors and supports the effective sharing and application of lessons learned.
The role leads HAZOP, LOPA, and other risk assessment studies, ensuring actions are clearly defined and tracked to completion. It supports the accuracy and maintenance of process safety information and contributes to the review of procedures, permit-to-work systems, and safe working practices.
The position supports Management of Change (MOC), Pre-Start-Up Safety Reviews (PSSR), and ensures process safety requirements are applied in small to mid-scale projects. It also contributes to audit readiness and follows up on the closure of findings.
Experience / skills required:
• Degree in Engineering or a related technical field
• Minimum 4 years of experience in Process Safety, Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, or HSE (preferably in manufacturing plants)
• Good command of English
• Strong communication skills, able to simplify technical topics
• Ability to collaborate effectively across functions
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Basic knowledge of risk assessment methodologies (PHA, HAZOP, LOPA)
• Familiarity with key process safety elements (MOC, PSSR, permit-to-work, safe work practices)
• Ability to read and understand technical documentation (e.g., P&IDs)
• Proactive, hands-on, and eager to learn attitude
