Job Description:
About the Role:
This role will act as the subject matter expert for Process Safety Management (PSM) and Utilities systems within TreeHouse Foods. The role will develop and implement a PSM vision and program to drive safety, consistency, and compliance in the operation and maintenance of these systems across our manufacturing network. It will partner with Operations, Technical Operations, Environmental Health & Safety, and Environmental Affairs to implement programs and systems, to standardize work and to minimize risk.

Act as a technical subject matter expert on ammonia refrigeration, including PSM program management and compliance.

Manage and improve an internal PSM program. The program focuses on risk identification and reduction, incident investigation, auditing, gap analysis, corrective action tracking, and regulatory compliance using a formatted computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) based program incorporated in each of the current ammonia facilities in the company.

Partner with plant managers and technical operations leads to ensure that PSM programs, corporate standards, employee training, and site level engagement are meet or exceed company expectations and all regulatory requirements.

Conduct site skills assessments and provide and source options for external training needs to ensure compliance with State and/or regulations.

Lead complex investigations and identify effective, corrective, and preventive actions.

Lead completion of internal assessments and external audits across all facilities, per program requirements. Oversee corrective action implementation from audits and follow through completion.

Act as a technical resource for plant utility systems, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and air compressors.

Develop and lead programs to address other technical safety areas consistent with requirements, including fire/explosion, combustible dusts, pressure vessels, and natural gas fired equipment.

Review observations from internal insurance audits. Track and ensure completion of corrective actions for critical risk findings, including closing these recommendations.

Work with manufacturing locations and Technical Operations team to identify capital needs and build master plans for 1,3- and 5-year outlooks.

Serve as a technical lead to ensure all critical elements are included in the design and scope of capital projects related to PSM processes.

Serve as a technical lead supporting the Environmental, Health, and Safety team on compliance related matters.

Develop and report on key performance indicators across all levels of the organization (plants through executive leadership).

Ensure sufficient training processes and toolkits are available and implemented throughout the company.
Important Details: This is a full-time, remote position with 50% travel to manufacturing plants.
About You:
You’ll fit right in if you have:

Minimum of 5 years plant experience with a strong technical aptitude around ammonia refrigeration, plant utility systems, and process combustion systems.

Operator 1, 2 qualifications. Holds or working towards PMS certification.

A passion for this field of work and tenacity to build towards world-class systems.

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.

Detailed knowledge of Process Safety Management regulatory requirements.

Experience with combustible dust hazards and mitigation.

Strong presentation skills with experience in concisely summarizing problems and recommending actions.

Proven ability to lead teams, influence operations, and build consensus opinions.

Travel approximately 50%.
