Reporting to the Director, Financial Accounting, the Manager will play a key role overseeing and producing the end-to-end quarterly and year-end financial information for internal and external purposes (consolidated financial statements, management discussion and analysis, board presentations, etc.). The Manager will also build relationships with finance teams globally to support them with application and understanding of accounting standards. The Manager will be involved in researching and providing input into complex and non-routine transactions. The ideal candidate has relevant experience, is passionate about developing their team, building relationships with regional finance teams and enjoys solving accounting problems.
This role has direct visibility from the global CFO allowing the Manager to communicate with Senior Leadership. This role also allows the ideal candidate to grow and develop the necessary skills in order to advance their career within the organization.
How You'll Help:

  • Support the preparation and assist in the review of quarterly and year-end financial information for internal and external purposes (consolidated financial statements, management discussion and analysis, board presentations, etc.)
  • Assistance with statutory filings from global business units
  • Work cross-functionally to collect all inputs needed for internal and external reporting, create a project plan and ensure deadlines are adhered to
  • Provide advice and guidance on all technical accounting matters, including research and implementation of new IFRS standards
  • Managing numerous ad-hoc requests from the global business units and corporate finance groups as they relate to the accuracy of financial information
  • Working with internal stakeholders to determine the accounting considerations of business decisions
  • Lead the design, implementation, and execution of special projects which may include, but not limited to, process redesign, system implementation, and other projects as assigned
  • Assist with managing the CPA approved program and support, motivate, and coach entry-level accountants to achieve their full potential


About You:

  • University Degree, Bachelor's degree
  • CPA designation
  • 2-5 years post qualification accounting experience
  • Experience with an accounting firm, auditing multinationals and consolidations considered an asset
  • Detailed knowledge of IFRS
  • Experience overseeing audits performed by external audit firms
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work
  • Understanding of financial reporting systems, procedures and controls
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and departments, with an ability to lead through influence
  • Results-oriented individual with a bias to action and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Excellent communicator (both oral and written)
