Responsibilities:Monitor and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, quality, and throughput
Lead and support process improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma tools (DMAIC, 5S, Kaizen, etc.)
Analyze production data and KPIs to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement
Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WI)
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve process issues and reduce downtime
Conduct process audits and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and lean manufacturing standards
Drive waste reduction, cost savings, and cycle time improvements
Lead or participate in cross-functional continuous improvement projects
Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support on the production floor
Promote and enforce 5S, Lean principles, and operational excellence practices
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or related field) preferred
1-3 years of manufacturing or process engineering experience preferred
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
Lean and/or Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred
Experience with data analysis and problem-solving tools
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work in a hands-on production environment
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Position is located in Durham, NC
Standard work time: Monday through Friday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm
Travel may be required no more than 10%
Job regularly requires standing, walking, climbing and visual inspection typically 50% or more of the time.
