Process Engineer serves as a strategic partner to business leaders, shaping how the organization designs, governs, and scales its operations. This position leads complex, cross-functional transformation initiatives, and is accountable for ensuring that process design decisions align with long-term organizational strategy rather than isolated functional goals.
Working across business units, technology teams, and executive stakeholders, the Process Engineer leads the end-to-end lifecycle of process transformation. Applying Lean, Six Sigma, and systems-engineering methods, the Process Engineer translates this strategic work into measurable gains in cycle time, cost, quality, compliance, and operational capacity, ensuring that enterprise-level process strategy produces tangible, sustained business results.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Process analysis: Lead end-to-end process analysis to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and control gaps, using root-cause analysis, Lean, DMAIC, and value-stream mapping to design improved future-state processes.
- Cross-functional facilitation: Facilitate complex process-mapping and stakeholder working sessions across functions, evaluating the interplay of people, process, technology, data, and risk.
- Simplification before automation: Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, or eliminate activities prior to introducing technology solutions.
- Project leadership: Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives from discovery through implementation, defining scope, milestones, risks, and expected benefits.
- Stakeholder partnership: Present data-driven recommendations to leadership, drive stakeholder alignment and change adoption, and coach Process Analysts and Consultants.
- Measurement & governance: Establish KPIs, baselines, and benefit-realization metrics; build dashboards and scorecards; conduct post-implementation reviews; design governance and control structures.
- Technology enablement: Partner with technology teams to define requirements, workflow design, and automation opportunities (RPA, AI, process mining) that support—not overcomplicate—optimized processes.
- Implementation support: Support testing, adoption, and post-implementation validation of technology-enabled improvements.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This role does not have formal people leadership responsibilities but may provide guidance, mentorship, or subject matter expertise to others
