WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and continuously improving manufacturing processes that support plant Operations. This role ensures equipment, programs, and manufacturing methods consistently produce high-quality products while meeting safety, productivity, and cost objectives. The Process Engineer works closely with production, quality, maintenance, engineering, and product development teams to support new product introductions, optimize existing processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Principal Functional Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes for our cabinet product line(s)

  • Measure and verify manufacturing equipment for dimensional accuracy to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards

  • Perform process capability studies and statistical analysis to evaluate and improve manufacturing performance

  • Create, modify, validate, and maintain CNC programs for production equipment

  • Support the successful launch of new SKUs by developing manufacturing processes, validating production readiness, and resolving startup issues

  • Make real-time process and equipment adjustments to maintain product quality and production efficiency

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and process-related issues while implementing effective corrective actions

  • Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve process stability and operational performance

  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and overall manufacturing efficiency

  • Recommend cost-saving opportunities through waste reduction, process optimization, material utilization, and improved manufacturing methods

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies

  • Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, process parameters, and standard operating procedures

  • Provide technical guidance and training to production team members regarding manufacturing processes and equipment

  • Participate in equipment validation, testing, and process qualification activities as needed

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and manufacturing experience

  • Experience in manufacturing process engineering, preferably within a wood products, cabinetry, furniture, or similar manufacturing environment

  • Working knowledge of CNC programming and manufacturing equipment

  • Strong understanding of dimensional measurement techniques and manufacturing tolerances

  • Experience performing process capability analysis and interpreting manufacturing data

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions

  • Ability to make timely decisions in a fast-paced production environment

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines

  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in frameless cabinet manufacturing or related woodworking operations

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies

  • Experience with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming systems

  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC), capability studies, and quality management systems

  • Experience supporting new product introductions and production launches

  • Knowledge of automated manufacturing equipment and production systems

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent continuous improvement certification is a plus

  • Experience with ERP or manufacturing execution systems (MES)

Travel Expectations

  • Minimal travel is required for this position

  • Occasional travel may be necessary to support equipment installations, training, supplier visits, or other business-related activities
